Weekly roundup of all career news for Robert Pattinson

“If there was one bloody actor in the whole Competition that should have won the Best Actor award at Cannes it should be this motherfucking guy” – that’s the quote of the week from Anticipate Films who will distribute in Singapore. GOOD TIME: More release dates added: Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, Singapore; and some have changed: Switzerland and Belgium. Film Festivals: New Zealand added screenings for Christchurch & Timaru; Odessa added ticket links; Melbourne released its full programme so we know the dates and tickets now available; and Locarno will also screen the film. How about the plethora of stills – loving them, but I’m glad I’ve already seen the film as some are slightly spoilerish. Speaking of spoilerish – for those who don’t mind or those like Carmel who have seen the film and love hearing the thoughts of directors – ARTE Cinema talked to the Safdie Bros during Cannes about how they shot the film, their use of sound, colours and the soundtrack. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  New Zealand Film Festival also added screenings to Christchurch & Timaru. Two screenings at MIFF and tickets are also now on sale. HIGH LIFE: IMDbPro lists as “filming” although I’m pretty sure it wasn’t supposed to be filming until mid August, but I’m just happy that something is happening on this film. It’s been a long time coming. So if IMDbPro jumped the gun a little, I’ll forgive them. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: Another new still – amazing how many have come out for such a small role. Not complaining – just love Brady and Robert’s collaboration on this film. DIOR: Robert rubbing shoulders with important people again.  Plus that little snippet with Robert and his phone ringing. So funny because the same happened to Ben Mendelsohn at the Q&A I went to at SydFilmFest, but his father was FaceTiming him – and yes he answered and showed us his dad. IN OTHER NEWS: I came across a letterboxd review for The Rover where Robert and Guy’s performances were described as “Great performances from both sides of the coin”. I also came across a great article on the sound|foley effects used in GOOD TIME *warning it contains spoilers*. Posh spoilt us with that HQ Victoria Stevens’ photoshoot pic and some great shots of Robert out and about in Cannes. Danielle Levitt also provided us with a colour version of a previous shot. Suze reminded us of Robert’s attempts to disappear instead of sing during The Rover promotion. Potterheads, The Ritz Cinema at Randwick is holding a HarryPotterthon on the last weekend of August which obviously includes Goblet of Fire on the big screen again. COMING UP NEXT WEEK: Good Time will be screening at Jerusalem Film Festival and Queensland Film Festival. It will also have a screening in Prague today (16 July 2017). Whilst The Lost City of Z will be released on DVD in France and Ireland and will screen as part of the New Zealand Film Festival. Not long to go now for us Aussies to see LCOZ – I feel like we’re almost the last to see it. See you next week …

Weekly roundup of all career news for Robert Pattinson

Well we did say July was DiorRob month – little did we know how prophetic that would be.  GOOD TIME:  I hope Metrograph share a BTS with Robert every week until August.  Thanks to Cyn for sharing with us the full digital scan of Film Comment and Posh for the scans without print so we can appreciate the new stills unobstructed.  Upcoming releases:  Sweden, Quebec, India and although Cinema Nova in Melbourne have tweeted that they will screen the film on 14 September, I’m not sure if that’s going to be a nationwide date. I’m talking with High Gloss and we’re just waiting for confirmation. You can add some more film festivals to the list – North American premiere in Montreal, Wellington has added 2 more screenings giving it a total of 3, the Ukraine has added to Odessa, Russia will have its premiere at Otkritie x Strelka Film Festival and Turkey will screen with a date to be confirmed in September/October at Filmekemi. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  I’m still desperate to see Henry Costin. Noble Entertainment (Sweden) is releasing the film on DVD, Bluray & VOD on 24 August 2017.  Oregon has a summer film festival that will include the film. DIOR:  Wowza it was a bonanza with Robert attending the events in Paris. HIGH LIFE: Juliette really wants to make another film with Robert and IMDbPro weren’t slow to add her to the cast.  LIFE:  If you are in Barcelona this month head on over to Filmoteca de Catalunya as they have added two screenings at their festival this month.  IN OTHER NEWS: ScreenDaily spoke with Ciro Guerra during the Karlovy Vary Film Festival and discussed his next 2 projects. Curious to know if Robert’s involved in the adaptation of JM Coetzee’s Waiting For The Barbarians. Robert did mention in his Film Comment article that he had a small part in a Guerra film. Not sure if anyone saw my tweets about David  Michôd latest Q&A where he was asked about upcoming projects.  Now as you know I also run a fansite for David so I’ve known about a few upcoming projects for some time. Two of which he spoke about at the end of this Q&A. I have speculated about Robert’s next project with him possibly being “KING” which is a script David’s cowritten with Joel Edgerton.  It’s an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Parts I & II, and Henry V.  Meant to be dark, gothic – I’m in regardless. He’s hopefully filming next year and this has been in the pipeline since 2015. You know how much Robert is like the 5th Beatle when it comes Blue Tongue Films.  The other project it could be is the TV adaptation of Catch 22 which David’s writing with Luke Davies. Hmmm – you just never know with Robert anymore – he does like to keep us on our toes when it comes to his roles.  Again, this is just me speculating, so it could be neither of these projects as David likes to play his cards very very close to his chest.  So let’s go to another one of Robert’s fave directors – a beginners guide to Claire Denis thanks to Film Inquiry  – hmm she doesn’t like to use much dialogue. Robert popped into Alain Ducasse’s restaurant “Allard” whilst in Paris and was happy to have some photos with the chef and staff.  COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  The Lost City of Z is being released on DVD in the US & Canada.  Good Time will be in competition at Jerusalem International Film Festival. It also has a free “Italian preview” screening today in Sicily at Taormina Film Festival. Wonder what surprises Robert might have up his sleeve for us next week.  Until then …

THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Sure you  might need a magnifying glass and then maybe not, but I’m sure Robert is in that still.  New Zealand Intl Film Festival has 4 screenings in July & August in Auckland and screenings in Wellington, although the Wellington dates are still to be confirmed. Belgium will be releasing the DVD in late August. GOOD TIME: 5 film festivals have added the film to their slate with New Zealand annoucing it will be its its closing night film; Melbourne including it in their Cannes section, Norway in main program and Jerusalem in official competition.  Norway also has a September 2017 release date. A24 shared the official new US poster and a second trailer. Film Comment gave us a great excerpt from their upcoming issue featuring an interview with Robert. I love reading/listening to his thoughts. We have some amazing new stills of Connie Nikas – love that Greek hooligan *thanksCarmel* THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER:  Poland has 3 special screenings in August as part of Kinobranie2017. Fil Rouge Media has also shared a review – 3 out of 5 stars. IN OTHER NEWS: Bret Easton Ellis had a lovely dinner companion and decided to tease us with a pic. I hope they have plans to work together. Suze treated us to a terrific Throwback Thursday and Posh shared a larger version of a pic from the latest photoshoot that is still tagged, but at least nowhere near Robert’s face. There is that at least. COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  Japan will release Queen of the Desert on DVD.  You can watch GOOD TIME at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival on 3 and 5 July and that’s the first 6 months of 2017 done and dusted. See you next week.

Weekly roundup of all career news and film releases for Robert Pattinson

I was lucky enough to see GOOD TIME for the second time in the space of 5 days and I can confirm that this really is a powerhouse performance from Robert.  As Vertigo commented “[Robert] brought lots of new stuff to the table and I love love loved what he did with it.” Cosigns. GOOD TIME: Thanks to the new official French Facebook page we know that there will be an early screening of the film on 30 June at SOFILM Film Festival (I have also added links for tickets to post) and an earlier screening in France in July. Germany has a distributor and a release date, albeit it was pushed back at least once this week so I hope this doesn’t become a regular occurrence. Scandinavia will release in August, but a date is yet to be confirmed. Belgium will see the film same day as CH-F – bet Posh is happy about that. Queensland has added the film to their Film Festival in July – I know Sue will have bought half of those tickets to take her friends – they will be in for a treat. Robert talked about his character and the Safdies with Skip Magazine Austria – thanks Cyn for sending me the digital scans and also the link to her upload of the Mexican interview. THE LOST CITY OF Z: Italy is treating us to some nice little promo – especially by including 2008 Rome Rob & 2009 Cannes Rob. Posh also found an article in F Magazine.  Google and Bing have kept me busy this week. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: Italy has a preview screening happening in Perugia prior to the general release on 29 June. And how about those new Charles Marker stills. Gorgeous. IDOL’S EYE:  This film has been teasing us for years – I still hold out hope that we will get to see that 70s moustache on Robert again. IN OTHER NEWS: I tweeted a link to a current exhibition in Montreal by Olafur Eliasson – for those of you who might be interested and recall that he will be doing the artwork for High Life. Texas Monthly did a write up for the Texan arthouse cinema “Alamo Drafthouse” and mentioned Damsel as a forthcoming release this year by Texan directors. Robert attended the opening night and after party of Tom Sturridge’s Broadway play “1984” and thanks to Posh we have a few photos in fabulous HQ & UHQ for one. There’s a new print interview in IO Donna (Italy) and although Robert talks Good Time, I’ve posted it under HQs, Updates etc because really nothing is new concerning GT, but there is a new comment about him wanting to bring the Band to the screen. Also Emirates have been so thoughtful to their passeners and thanks Robert for the tips on what to do in London – I’ll keep that in mind for an upcoming trip. COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  The Lost City of Z will be available in the US on Amazon Prime.  Italy will have the release of The Childhood of a Leader in cinemas on 29 June and GOOD TIME will be screening at the following film festivals:  SO FILM on 30 June and Karlovy Vary on 1 July 2017 (with 2 more screenings the following week) – Happy days.

Weekly Roundup of all career news for Robert Pattinson

I cannot believe I’m typing this but I’ve now seen GOOD TIME. This film is fast paced and as I tweeted Robert’s performance is electrifying. It’s most definitely a film that can and should be viewed multiple times as I’m pretty sure you will pick up some new detail on each viewing. I’ll let you know because we’re lucky enough to be able to see it again on Wednesday night. I understand why it has been compared to Dog Day Afternoon – amazing how one person’s choices can affect so many people – also Connie’s having a pretty shitty day.  Robert’s confidence in his performance as Connie Nikas really comes through. Spellbinding. Also, if you’ve been following our twitter feed, the reactions out of Syd Film Fest have been on par with Cannes. Exciting times ahead for Robert. GOOD TIME: Release dates are changing like a game of chess:  France has moved theirs forward to September, Netherlands has moved theirs back to October. French and German speaking Switzerland now has October release dates. Sydney Film Festival has added an additional screening post the actual festival – it’s what’s called “Back by Popular Demand”. I like the fact that on Saturday’s daytime screening there was a very interesting mix of people. Denmark now has distributors for cinema release. Robert as Connie Nikas is on the cover of Cahiers Du Cinema which included a new BTS and interview (Thanks to Pattinson Art Work for the scans and translation) and Robert’s also on the cover of CinemaScope. Loving the amount of magazine covers Robert has been on thanks to Cannes. Also thanks to Posh for sharing the UHQ|HQ photos from Cannes and the Vanity Fair from Italy.  The film has been added to two more film festivals in the Czech Republic – Karlovy Vary and Slovakia – Art Film Festival.  New interviews still surfacing from Cannes – I especially love it when they are video. I need to do some new In His Words! IDOL’S EYE:  Looks like something is happening … hallelujah. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER:  As I said in the post for the Italian release – better late than never. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Lots of DVD|Bluray releases coming up.  IN OTHER NEWS:  Aidan Monaghan tweeted a link to American Cine’s article on The Lost City of Z that featured some of his BTS pics (including one with Robert). A town barber was added to cast of Damsel -intrigued. Also the Octopus Project is teasing re the soundtrack. Tweet of the week goes to Cedric Succivalli who wasn’t afraid to let Cannes know that Robert was robbed of the best actor award. Suze is testing us with our choices for 12 Month of Robert. There was a High Life mention in Mia Goth’s interview with Vogue – not sure how accurate but it claims to be starting in 3 weeks. COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  Good Time still has a screening on Wednesday 21 June 2017 in Sydney.  The Lost City of Z is released in Italy on 22 June 2017.  See you next week …

Weekly roundup of all career news for Robert Pattinson

I’m still reeling a little after Sydney Film Festival claims I contributed to Good Time being a last minute inclusion. I guess sending them this tweet really did work. GOOD TIME:  Hope you’ve all got your tix for one of the 3 sessions next Saturday.  For those of you who can’t make SFF, Hi Gloss confirmed to me that they were anticipating releasing the film nationwide in Sept/October this year.  Although they are also distributing in NZ not sure if it will be same timeframe. Going back to the Australian premiere next week – in case you are wondering – there’ll be no Rob nor the Safdie Bros as far as I’m told.  Prior to ScreenDaily giving us a comprehensive list of distributors, I had found the distributors for Hong Kong and Lebanon.  ScreenDaily also confirmed SVOD with Netflix in some territories (including Oz).  To see who is distributing theatrically and/or with Netflix check out our Film Page. Hong Kong has brought its release date forward to 17 August 2017. The Cannes goodness continued this week too thanks to Posh. Also OPN released the full track from the trailer with Iggy Pop.  He also kindly added preorder links to his website.  THE LOST CITY OF Z: Argentina has pushed back the release until September. Annoying. The Philippines have finally nailed down a release date and it’s this week – 7 June. South Africa also have a release date. Melbourne has included it in their film festival in August. Jealous!!!  THE SOUVENIR:  Parts 1 and 2 are now both on Robert’s IMDb page. Part 2 showing preproduction as at 8 June 2017. QUEEN OF THE DESERT: You can preorder your US DVD or Bluray … finally. IN OTHER NEWS: That new photoshoot *swoons*.  Also a new photo emerged of Robert with Monika Wilczynska (actress/director) at the Dior Good Time After Party. Just in case come July you noticed some pics on the site are either not loading or missing, you can thank imgbox & imagebam for shutting down. I have about 4 years worth of pics that we may need to reupload and/or replace, so just bear with me. My priority is the pics from premieres this year and then I’ll deal with all the Masterposts.  I hate you imgbox and imagebam. I knew I should have stuck to Photobucket. In any event, you can always check out our Gallery which has over 9 years worth of pics. I’m still uploading the Cannes pics to that too. Although there are no UHQ’s in the gallery you can always find HQs. COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  The Lost City of Z will screen at the Biografilm Film Festival in Bologna on 16 & 17 June and of course we have GOOD TIME at the Sydney Film Festival on 17 June. Excited. I promise no spoilers. See you next week.
