Interesting week and a new interview from Robert! THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: Loved that new interview from Robert and Brady for the Sunday Times interview.  Fabulous.  And yes Robert we noticed you were trying different things from The Rover and we love it.  Israel will have screenings in August. Stacy Martin has a few words to say about seeing Robert and I’ve udpated the movie reviews. Ipswich Film Theatre has added September dates, but no tickets as yet so I have updated the UK roundup. Love that BTS photo of the cast with Brady and Mona that Tom Munro shared with Kodak. DIOR:  That BTS shot with Romain Gavras looked familiar and new to me all at the same time, but I couldn’t find it in our gallery so I’m going with new. DAMSEL:  At least now we know one character name. LIFE: Argentinians get to watch this move from 17 November not 1 September as previously posted. THE ROVER:  Australia – The Rover is on TV right now. I love that new still of Rey on the road *sigh* and that larger Tsiavis portrait.  Seems to be a week of uncovering old photoshoots. Thanks as always to Posh. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  For those wanting to see The Lost City of Z at NYFF there will be two in Alice Tully Hall and 2-4 at our other theaters on 15 Oct. I can’t wait to see this film. I love that I’ve come across comments like this about the film “TLOCZ represents a form of epic storytelling that has all but vanished from the landscape of modern cinema, and a rare level of artistry.” Fandor.  In fact Kent Jones, the director of NYFF, said this about the film “It’s an impassioned work and it’s also a kind of movie-making that really is almost gone now — immaculately crafted and epic in scope,†Jones said. “It’s a movie that really becomes abstract in a surprising way.â€Â IN OTHER NEWS: Filmbox Hungary is screening Remember Me – which reminds me that I need to revisit that film. Robert and Good Time were mentioned in a Variety article in relation to Hercules Film Fund. Michelle’s eagle eye noticed that great Bruce Weber pic was posted by Vanity Fair in larger size.  She’s also making our lives difficult with her 12 month choices *grumbles*.  Coming up next week – Liam Cunningham will be doing a Q&A at the Irish Film Institute after a preview screening ahead of the UK release of The Childhood of a Leader on 19 August, Queen of the Desert will finally be released in Greece and the US gets another screening of the film at 72FilmFest|Area 31. Details for all can be found on our relevant film pages. So until then …

Corker of a week. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER:  Keep an eye on the UK list of cinemas as I am updating that almost on a daily basis.  I have also updated the reviews and I came across this little gem of an article from Den of Geek “Films to Beat the Summer Blockbuster Fatigue” and they had this to say about Robert “it’s a compelling subject with some serious talent behind it. We might not have said so a few years ago, but we’d also recommend it based on the involvement of Robert Pattinson, who’s lost his sparkly lustre from his Twilight days but accrued some serious credibility from subsequent projects like this one.”  How glorious is that B&W still in UHQ and also the full version that we have been spoilt with this week.  I don’t care how may variations there are of that picture – they are all spectacular. Thank you as always to Posh. I came across an article and photoshoot of Brady Corbet in a kimono, but that’s not what caught my attention, it was the fact that they said there would be a further roll out in the US of the film. QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  September sees the DVD|Bluray release for New Zealand and Spain. Mumbai is having a screening today as part of a Werner Herzog Retrospective.  THE LOST CITY OF Z:  World Premiere – New York Film Festival.  Woo hoo. I posted an interesting podcast discussion with Ann Thompson and Eric Kohn from Indiewire about what it means for this film to be at the Festival especially without a US distributor. Although Indiewire is also saying they expect a 2017 release.  I also noticed that Leone Film Group has The Lost City of Z listed under “next releases“.  We already knew that Leone Film was the Italian distributor, if you want to keep up with releases, you can always check out our Film page. THE ROVER: The movie that keeps on giving. I love that there are still photos yet to be unleashed.  IN OTHER NEWS:  Michelle still keeping us Aussies up to date with FOXTEL sharing the Robert love. We had a glimpse at one of Robert’s costars in Damsel Joe Billingiere via his casting agent Central Artists,  This appeases my soul for when I come across Brimstone news/photos and now I don’t feel like I’ve missed out on cowboy Rob. For those interested in photography, Aidan Monaghan (the stills photographer for some of my fave films and LCOZ) did an interview with Adorama TV where he gives some fascinating insight of what his job involves.  Part 2 is coming so stay tuned.  The AVClub had an interesting interview with Brady Corbet – no Rob mention, but if you are interested in Brady there is quite a bit of background.  Next week sees the screenings of The Childhood of a Leader at on Monday 8 Aug #MIFF16 and on Friday at Chichester (UK) and Miami Cinematheque.  Curious to see what else next week brings … until then.

This week saw confirmation on IMDbPro of Robert’s involvement in Damsel.  Yeah yeah I know about those pics but you know my opinion of sneaky shots. So let’s get to what else we were treated to this week. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER Kicking off the week with that glorious HQ still thanks to Posh. Hong Kong will have two screenings as part of the Summer International Film Festival in August and they unleashed a new poster that includes Robert.  The Irish Film Institute is holding a special preview screening and a Q&A with Liam Cunningham. Envy is they name. VICE interviewed Brady. Dear interviewers please actually do some research about Robert’s fanbase instead of “assuming” you know who they are.  I think Brady did a good job shutting down “Kim”. I have updated the US cinema roundup post adding Michigan and San Diego and I created one for the UK as more and more cinemas are starting to list upcoming screenings. I also updated the reviews given the release in LA this week. DAMSEL: Finally! Robert and Mia’s names have been added to the cast on IMDbPro. QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  Slovenia is screening the film on 30 July 2016. Greece has posted a new release date – 18 August. Fingers crossed this one sticks for real and you can now rent in South Africa via DSTv. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Studio Canal NZ and UK look to have May in their sights to release the film.  IN OTHER NEWS: The Age (Melbourne newspaper) included The Childhood of a Leader in top picks at Melbourne International Film Festival .  A very interesting read at Screen Daily about film festivals esp Venice & Cannes rivalry.  LIFE is still in cinemas in Brazil and Brazil is also holding free screenings of Claire Denis films until 4 August at Cine Humberto Mauro. Michelle has been on FOXTEL watch and let’s us know when Robert is on  our TVs.  For those interested, you can check out Brady Corbet’s debut feature.  Coming up next week Sydneysiders can catch Queen of the Desert at Riverside Theatre.  Looking forward to seeing what we might be spoilt with next week … until then.

Interesting week and lots happening for The Childhood of a Leader … DAMSEL: So the summary is changed and the words “comedy” removed, but we know we know Zellners – you are playing with us lol. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER:  Some great reviews coming out with the release in the US and still some trickling through from other festivals. I love the official UK poster and I can watch that trailer all day long. I also love comments like “”[Pattinson] a sign of his maturity and respect in acting” that are coming out thanks to the UK Trailer and pending release. Londoners will have to wait an extra week with Art House Crouch End pushing back their screenings until 29 July 2016. And if you live in or near Dorset, you can catch an exclusive screening on 31 July 2016 at 10 Castle Street which appears to be a Club/Restaurant. Intrigued. If you’re in the US some of you may have already seen the film, but if you’re in Miami then you’ll have to wait a few more weeks – Miami Cinematheque will be screening from 12 to 24 August. Also I’ve updated the US cinemas with information that LA will be getting the release from 29 July – and I’ve added links for sessions in Santa Monica. Great to see Robert’s scene again (for me) with Liam Cunninghum discussing the tragedy of Pontius Pilate. The Q&A with Brady Corbet and Mona Fastvold is an interesting read and the podcast with Brady is fascinating. He’s so fabulous to listen to and I love that he mentioned how integral Robert was to the film from the beginning. LIFE: Mexico has added more screenings of the film as part of the 36th International Forum of Cinema. With the release in Brazil I decided to update the Movie Reviews – especially when you see reviews stating “Robert Pattinson ends up doing better in his role … giving us one of the best moments of the film” QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  Well they do say that the Shire is God’s country – Sutherland Shire is screening the film as part of it’s Movie Day. IN OTHER NEWS: *sniffs* at least it’s not just us that are depressed by the death of Cedric Diggory. There was an interesting Brady Corbet article for those interested and Salon also posted a great interview. Thank you all for my birthday wishes feeling very blessed.  As we lead into next week we have The Childhood of a Leader at T-Mobile New Horizons Film Festival in Poland, released in LA theatres from next Friday and a special screening in London and Queen of the Desert at Lake Como Film Festival.  Not forgetting that the lineup for the Venice Film Festival is announced on Thursday so we are all eagerly waiting whether The Lost City of Z will be premiering. Fingers crossed.  So until then …

Great start to the week with UHQ photos and new film news. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: That promotional photo is my favourite yet, but then again I say that about most of Robert’s photos.  I also love the different variation of the child with his parents and Charles Marker. But more importantly I love the UHQs Posh spoilt us with. Wonderful.  Japan gets a distributor and a “G” classification. I’m surprised by that classification. We also found out a few days later that the film will be released in November through Toho cinemas. Dates still to be confirmed as I post this. The Japanese poster was also unleashed and it’s beautiful.  Poland also gets a distributor and a release date. All links confirming the November release date are now on the post. I like to make it easy for those who don’t like to source us. Some like to treat us like Voldemort. I still laugh at that, but as long as the information is provided to Robert’s fans *shrugs*. New York is having a sneak peek screening at the IFC Center on 20 July 2016 that includes a Q&A with Brady Corbet. Get your tix! I’ve also put together a very small list of cinemas planning on screening the film and some VOD links. I hope to update that with more cinemas this week. London is also having early screenings at Art House Crouch End from 22 July. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday. Bloody brilliant for you Londoners. Looks like Polar Star is the sales agent for PayTV & VOD for Latin America and Brazil. DAMSEL: I have been waiting to write the name of this film. So intrigued by it. I watched Kumiko: The Treasure Hunter last weekend. Beautifully filmed. I like how the Zellner Bros do a David Michod and write roles for themselves in their films (or should I say what David used to do pre The Rover). I’ve also set up a film page not that I expect we will get a load of information considering how small budget this film appears to be. I also love how low key it is – or is trying to be. Speaking of which – it’s now listed on IMDbPro with no cast. Sneaky sneaky. LIFE: Mexico is having a few more screenings as part of the 36th international forum of films. QUEEN OF THE DESERT: Werner Herzog held a Q&A on Reddit the day before his online Masterclass. Thankfully a few asked him some questions about this film.  IN OTHER NEWS: Michelle, as usual, is not making it easy with her 12 months of Rob choices for August *shakesfist*. For those interested, you can watch Benny Safdie’s first short online for free for a short time. I loved Indiewire’s comment “”be on the lookout for their upcoming film “Good Time,†starring Robert Pattinson”. I also came across a great conversation about how great Rob was in Cosmopolis and The Childhood of a Leader. Both Conrad and I later agreed that Robert IS great in Cosmopolis. Stephen A Russell from The LowDownunder sang praises for The Childhood of a Leader post Sydney Film Festival and he’s singing praises again for people to go and see it at the Melbourne Film Festival.  As we head into the new week remember to check out IFC Center for screening details and tix from tomorrow, 18 July.  That goes for London too with the screenings at Art House Crouch End. Later next week look out for Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire on FOXTEL on Thursday and Life being released in Brazil. Don’t worry we will tweet reminders closer to those dates.  So until then …

Let’s see what’s kept us busy this week. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Brazil has pushed back their release date. As I mentioned in the post, it’s more than likely that the 23 October 2016 date was just a placecard. THE ROVER: Scandinavians with access to Viasat can enjoy this film next week. I also updated The Rover reviews since I came across one that stated “Robert Pattinson, proving, I think definitely it is much more than a handsome vampire who makes girls scream.”.  QUEEN OF THE DESERT: The Ukraine will see the film at the same time as Russia. Sydneysiders will be reading this too late to have enjoyed the 3 screenings at Govinda’s this weekend.  Oops. We posted back in April that Spentzos confirmed to us that 14 July was the expected release was 14 July. Then there was mention that it could be 30 June, but 30 June came and went and no screenings plus Cine removed the date.  Now it’s showing 14 July 2016 so I think we will stick with that. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: I tweeted the UK classification and The Playlist included the film in their 12 films to see this July. I have patiently been waiting to see if the film would be included at this year’s Melbourne International Film Festival and they didn’t disappoint.  Two screenings as part of the International Panorama. I wish I could justify a trip to Melbourne. Poland is also having 3 screenings at the 16th T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival. Those screenings are also part of their “Panorama” section. A new still emerged from the Vanity Fair feature and thanks to Posh we have the full version of it. I love how they trickle through. 2bmanagement also shared a new still *twirls*. IFC uploaded a trailer to their YouTube. IN OTHER NEWS: Ian Beck, who wrote The Summer House shared some more set photos of Robert taken by Campbell Mitchell.  I happened across a screening of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire just as it was starting on FOXTEL on Thursday night and posted a few more screenings coming up in the next few weeks.  Looks like Warwick Cinema, Massachusetts will be screening #TCoaL.  Jules reminded us on Thursday that it was International Kissing Day – loved her Dior edit and was happy to see it again.  So as we head towards another week, we shall see what unfolds. Until then …
