So the Tweed News will run a story on how Stephen Buge of Kingscliff Cinemax has decided to do a screening of Little Ashes. Stephen thinks this film will be a hit in Australia. Well Stephen you are so right, Rob’s fans should be excited about the opportunity you are about to give them to see this amazing film on the big screen. I know you are all reading this going blah blah blah Maria we hear you say this everyday. Well if you really knew what has gone into getting this film onto the cinema screens in Australia perhaps you might take note. So far this morning only 20 tickets had been sold for Sydney. We’ve got less than a week to sell that cinema out in order to have further screenings of Little Ashes in February. C’mon Sydney do we really want to be outdone by Kingscliff, Adelaide and Melbourne? How many times have you all gone to see New Moon? Well I can tell you I’ve seen both films and you CANNOT compare Rob’s portrayal of Eddie with his incredible performance as Salvador Dali. I know blasphemy right – well prove me wrong. You know one of the main questions and pleas we get at RPAU is “please help bring Rob to Australia”.  Well I’m beginning to think why bother – will you all turn up for him if he’s not dressed as Eddie? If you want to read the Tweed News article, just click on the link.Â

Well I’m not sure what’s happening Sydney, but so far only 18 tickets have been sold for the special screening of Little Ashes at the Ritz. Considering 4 of them are mine, that’s pretty woeful, and I’m a little perplexed considering 56 said they wanted it to screen on that night. The cinema seats 220 and I realise it’s mid-week, but how great would it be if we could fill it.  There’s the chance that if we do we can get a screening of How To Be at a later date.  Is this really all of you telling me that Rob’s not worth it?Â
Please purchase tickets for Sydney here. If you plan on purchasing tickets on the night – can you let me know by commenting on the site so at least we know there is definite interest.
I’ve also had confirmation today that there will be a special one off screening in Melbourne at the Astor Theatre, cnr Chapel Street and Dandenong Road, St Kilda on 10 January 2010. Thanks Terry for squeezing this in. When I spoke to him last week they had already confirmed their schedule up until April, so again people, let’s show them we are serious about Rob or is it just about Twilight?
Okay I saw this on IMDb and thought it was kind of funny, especially considering how Rob said in the Japanese interview we posted before that he is “very determined”.  Not that we didn’t know that haha. Anway it’s a slow news day and so I thought this was a little fun.
“Robert Pattinson is the Twilight pack’s rowing king.
The Brit, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the movies, put his fitness to the test in the weight room on the set of the new Twilight film New Moon – and staged a rowing war with co-star Chaske Spencer.
The movie werewolf explains, “We were all really competitive and supportive of one another. One time, I had the highest score on this rowing machine and the next day I came in and Rob had beaten me.
“He worked out at night, and the wolves came in during the day. I’d beat him and then he’d beat me. On the last day of shooting, I came in and he’d beaten me by a second.”
See Rob all that rowing in Little Ashes finally paid off. Oh and speaking of Little Ashes – have you bought your tix for the Sydney screening yet? If not, click here (nice segueway, right)

How long have we been waiting for this film to screen in our cinemas – too long – and so for some the wait is almost over (sorry that phrase can’t just be reserved for Rob and New Moon).  Here’s the details for Adelaide and Kingscliff:
7th Jan 2010 Trak Cinema Adelaide – www.trakcinema.com.au
14th Jan 2010 Cinemax Kingscliff NSW – www.cinemaxcinema.com.au
and of course
9 December 2009 Ritz Cinema, Randwick – www.ritzcinema.com.au
We are hoping to add Melbourne and Perth soon and will keep you posted. If anyone wants to recommend a cinema in Queensland that might seriously be interested in a screening, please send us an email via the site – robertpattinsonau@gmail.com.
Let’s show Rob how much we truly appreciate him.
Well I can honestly say I’ve been waiting for this day for a very long time. Sydney please show your support of Rob by coming along to this special screening of Little Ashes at The Ritz Cinema, Randwick (click on special screenings on left sidebar) at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 9 December 2009. This is the first time Little Ashes has been screened in Australia. The Ritz have put a lot of faith in RPAU so I’m counting on you to show them how much we want to see Rob’s indie films. Seriously if you haven’t seen Rob’s portrayal of Salvador Dali, then I can’t urge you enough to come along – you will not be disappointed. Even if you have seen it, as I have countless times, there is nothing like seeing Rob on the big screen. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online by simplying clicking on the link above (go to “ticket purchases’ on left sidebar). And if you are having problems buying online then just give the Ritz a call. I know I’ve already bought my tickets. Thanks also to Tamara at Kojo Pictures for the faith!
Classification is MA15+ which means if you are under 15 you must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
Okay if you saw my earlier tweet then you would know that The Ritz Cinema, Randwick will be screening Little Ashes on Wednesday 9 December 2009 at 7pm. This is great news as we have been trying to get a limited cinema release of this film since last year. If the Ritz has plenty of interest then they will certainly consider doing further screenings. I’m just waiting for them to give me precise details of ticket purchasing etc and so will do a further post soon.
This is my favourite performance of Rob to date – please let’s make this a success. We really began to think we would never see this film on the big screen in Australia. Thanks Kojo Pictures and Randwick Ritz for giving us this chance to see Rob truly shine. And I’m sure you will be glad to be rid of me *eventually* LOL.
