You read that right.  Both films have been submitted to the Oscar Committee and are now being considered for nomination.  It would be amazing if Little Ashes was nominated – sorry New Moon not that I would be disappointed if NM was instead either, but Little Ashes in my opinion is far more worthy of an Oscar nomination.  However, let’s not get too excited even if it is a step in the right direction – ok maybe a little excited since I would never have guessed that Robert Downey Jr would be nominated for Best Actor from Tropic Thunder.  So you just never never know what the Oscar Committee is thinking.  We always say we believe Rob will one day be nominated, so hopefully this is an omen even though it’s not for best actor category – yet.  Thanks to the gorgeous Kate at our friends and elite affies ROBsessed and Mira for the tip.

Just a reminder for fans to make sure they go along to support Rob in the following screenings of Little Ashes.  Seriously I own a copy of this DVD and have for some time, but nothing compared to seeing Rob’s performance on the big screen – nothing.  You MUST do yourself the favour to enjoy this performance completely.  God I love him as Salvador:

Well @kspice75 called me the “montage queen” the other day on Twitter after the epic year in review that I created.  I’m a little humbled by that title and I think I need to give kudos to Michelle who created the original “Tyler montage” back in lol I can’t remember – maybe August last year.  That was the inspiration for my montages and so I thought given that we reviewed 2009, perhaps I could do a montage of the emergence of Rob from his early modelling days, public appearances up until Eclipse.  Might not be epic, but it’s still Rob!  Oh and enjoy the Zygote Rob pic – first and last time that I will post.  The .gifs again – I’ve started to make sure I note who makes them, but these two I’m at a loss.  If yours let me know.

I understand from Kojo Pictures that they had the premiere of Little Ashes in Adelaide the other day and that it was well received.  The Trak Cinema will be screening Little Ashes from 7 January 2010 – so if you live in Adelaide, here’s your chance to see Rob’s wonderful performance as Salvador Dali on the big screen.  I hope you take this opportunity to see this wonderful film because you will not be disappointed.  Thanks to Heather for the gorgeous screencap.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support Little Ashes last night at Randwick  – I really appreciated it.  I haven’t got final numbers but I think we may have sneaked towards 70 – still not enough I’m sure to entice The Ritz to screen How To Be, but hey – I tried.  If you hadn’t seen the film before I hoped you enjoyed it.  For me, although I’ve seen it many times, it was great seeing Rob in this role on the big screen is a completely different experience.  I took a friend of mine along who is not an obsessed Rob fan and she loved it.  So now that Sydney has experienced this wonderful film, it’s Melbourne’s turn next.  If you are able to get to St Kilda on 10 January 2010 please go along to The Astor and really really see Rob shine.

In honour of the Sydney Little Ashes screening at the The Ritz Cinema tomorrow night, I thought I would put together a montage of Rob as Salvador Dali.

Anyone who is in Sydney or the surrounding areas, I urge you to go & see this beautiful film. Rob is just absolutely brilliant in this role.  Yes, some have already seen it on DVD as have we, but this is about supporting Rob & his work.  I am sure you would all agree that nothing can beat seeing a film on the big screen, especially when that film includes Rob.  This is such a wonderful opportunity so please show your support for Rob & this beautiful film by attending. Rob is worth every single bit of our support so let’s show everyone just how much we want to see his films here in Australia.  Reminder that all the info regarding purchasing of tickets can be found here or via the widget on our sidebar.

Thanks to our wonderful elite affiliate Robert Pattinson Source for some of these pics & the lovely Heather for the screen caps.
