Are you serious?  The M&M’s are not fit for public speaking right now, which is why I’ve abandoned my finals to bring you this official news.  Even though we all knew it was coming, we’re still a little stunned to see it in print.  Here’s what Summit had to say.

Los Angeles, CA, June 10, 2010 – Summit Entertainment confirmed today that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011. Academy Award® winner Bill Condon will direct both films.  (ETA) The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. The TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will start production in the Fall.

Once upon a long time ago (when the world made sense) this news would have thrilled me, so I can almost understand how some of you must feel.  Now?  Well looks like we are going to be riding this thing until 2012.  With Rosenberg!  Apparently Condon is looking forward to the C-section – ok and goodluck with that.

p.s. They better bloody hurry up and finish this thing because I’m pretty sure Rob is already looking wiser than his 24 years right?

Honest Rob – Bill himself confirmed there will be no breaking out in song.

Looks like the release for “Breaking Dawn” is set for the 18th November 2011. That may seem like a long way off for some – not such a wait though when considering how many Rob projects we get to experience before then. This date is not confirmed for Australian release, but as you all know, once those details come to light, the M&M’s will be sure to let us know. You can read the Hitfix article here.

Hahaha has Bill Condon been visiting our website – I doubt it but it was funny when I read Twilight Saga:  A Note to Fans from Bill Condon.  I won’t reproduce it here, just click on the link if you want to read it, but I will quote the line that made me post this:

“P.S. Answer #1: No, there won’t be any musical numbers”

Thanks Bill – although I had started thinking that perhaps that was the music Rob has been writing of late – remember back in the first New Moon interviews when he said he had been collaborating on some music they had been asked to write and we all thought (or hoped) it was Rememeber Me.   Hmm what ever happened with that I wonder.

PS.  I knew that pic would come in handy one day.

It’s just a tear to the left and a bite to the riiiiggghgttt (must be sung to Timewarp of Rocky Horror) – hahaha – remember Vertigo my theme song for the birth.  Okay well maybe I shouldn’t still be scared that they are going to make Breaking Dawn into a musical, but Bill Condon – you know of Dreamgirls fame, has been confirmed as the director of the 4th film.  Hmm I note they say 4th film and not Breaking Dawn movies – does this mean there will be a different director for the second film of BD?  Anyway thanks to Amanda Bell of Twi Examiner:

“After countless months of speculation regarding who would helm The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Summit Entertainment has just announced that Bill Condon (Oscar-winning director of Dreamgirls, Kinsey, and Gods And Monsters) will indeed be the director.  … Finally, Bill Condon himself spoke up about being picked to helm the fourth film in the Twilight series. “I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book – and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience,” he said.”

press-conference-12

Okay so I wish now that I hadn’t used my pic of Rob doing a jig for my previous post since “song and dance” might be the way Breaking Dawn is heading.  For those on Twitter you will already know my fear that Bill Condon, the director of Dreamgirls, is in talks with Summit for the final chapter of the Twi Saga.  Variety is now reporting that the talks are close and that the film is being slated as two.  Double yikes – sorry as I said this afternoon – two films would be torture.  You all know this is my least favourite of the books – in fact sometimes I even wonder if Stephenie Meyer actually wrote it since the characters turned into people I have no idea who they are.  Seriously Edward was so whipped – sorry that’s not love – I just wanted to slap Bella repeatedly.  Oh sorry for our younger followers – I’m not condoning violence (but I really wanted to do it).   Anyway don’t want to debate everyone’s love for BD so I’ll just say thanks to our affie @TwiBritneyFan and also @aRedi for agreeing/laughing with me on Twitter this arvo and @aRedi  for the tip about Variety.  If you want to read the short article, just click on the link above.  Hmm perhaps that’s why Rob’s voice always rose an octave during the RM press junket whenever he was asked about BD – just saying.

Well you can read what you want into this post from Acting Auditions, but they claim:

“It’s official! “THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN” production has been greenlit and I now have the latest free auditions information. The fourth saga in the Twilight Series is going back to it’s roots and will be filmed in Portland, Oregon. Principal photography will not begin until September, 2010 – the exact dates for the acting auditions have not been determined.

The Breaking Dawn’s director has yet to be officially announced, however sources say that Gus Van Sant has signed on. Van Sant’s directing schedule fits perfectly, as he will wrap filming on “Restless” (which is being produced by Bryce Dallas Howard and currently shooting in Portland until January 3rd, 2010) before Breaking Dawn I goes into production, and he is not set to film anything else until 2011 – after Breaking Dawn II would wrap production”.

Okay I’m scared because they are also talking about a massive casting call for Renesmee – yikes!   The thing that makes me suss is that Rob mentioned Gus Van Sant as who he wanted to direct – Rob was that you trying to give us a clue???  Anyway, as I said, read what you want into this, but they did get it right about Remember Me so if you want to see the whole announcement click on the highlighted link above.  Oh and yes, Part 1 – another yikes from me.  Sorry people, but I hope if it’s true Gus you make me eat my words (but I doubt it).  The pic of Rob below is for a calming effect because I need it.
