Further previously announced projects in pre-production include Claire Denis’s Nicaragua-set romantic thriller Stars At Noon, starring Robert Pattinson and Margaret Qualley, which is due to shoot in April 2021.
It makes sense given that filming for The Batman is said to be continuing until February 2021. Also @Monsieur_HJ tweeted this recently:
RT Features to produce Robert Pattinson “The Stars at Noon”
Telecine interviewed Rodrigo Teixeira, who as you might recall through RT Features produced “The Lighthouse”, on their Instagram live where along with talking about how great Rob is, revealed he would also be producing “The Stars At Noon ” in 2021. Below is the transcription thanks to Robert Pattinson Portugal:
“He is one of the sweetest stars he has. We shared the same house for 3 months, two houses sprouted.
Where did you guys shoot?
– Nova Scotia, Canada. And we became very friend. Very much. We had dinner together every night, ate soup, had a beer, chat. This guy is cool asf, fine people, smart, is a cinephile, has good taste in cinema, humble, is an amazing guy, any image I had of this kid until I work with him I see him another way. I’m a fan of his I think he’s awesome, he deserves a lot of success you know, because he’s a very normal guy, he’s a nice guy.
And very good actor, full of qualities, and resources as an actor, he is wonderful.
Very much. He surrenders, makes film for young director, he’s an amazing guy. He is a very modern actor. I really like him.
And you will still have the opportunity to be able to work with him again, which will be cool, you will meet again.
Yes we end up getting close, you end up creating some friends in the middle of this process, you end up saying “look let’s make a movie together” and you find the material and send to me. You end up creating relationship. With Robert Pattinson if I think there will be something that is too cool for him, if I send it I’m sure he will stop and read and will chat me.”
Claire Denis Provides Update on Robert Pattinson #TheStarsatNoon
C7nema spoke with Claire Denis who is to be honored at the upcoming “Master of the Reel” which runs online from 17 April to 2 May 2020. This is what Claire had to say her film starring Rob and Margaret Qualley “The Stars at Noon”:
And how is your new project, The Stars At Noon , based on the novel by Denis Johnson about an incursion into Nicaragua in the 1980s?
We have to wait for the activities of the world to return to normal and wait for the circulation of people to return to normal, safely. We already have the financing and I have already chosen the locations. I closed with Pattinson, who needs to end his commitments with Warner Bros., with “Batman”, today stopped. And I already have an actress, Margareth Qualley. The script already exists. Now is to see how the schedules look.
You can read the whole article by clicking on link above where there is a High Life mention. You can also check out some of Claire’s earlier works which will be part of the “Master of the Reel’ by also clicking that link above. The selected films will be available to watch for free. Claire will also be giving a masterclass with a date to be confirmed for those interested.
Rob is featured on a one page spread in the April edition of Total Film called “Hot Right Now”. Click on the photo to read the full article. I like that they say “With another Denis teamup for The Stars at Noon also incoming, looks like both halves of Pattinson are in (shadow) play for the long haul.”
