For those who read my Breaking Dawn post a few days ago, you will remember that I speculated about how busy Rob was going to be up until this time next year. Well Rope of Silicon is now reporting that Rob is set to join Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz in a period film called “Unbound Captives” hopefully to be shot at the end of this year.  The film is to be directed by Madeline Stowe, who cowrote the script with her husband Brian Benben (is that his real name?) and will make her directorial debut.  Rachel Weisz will play the role of a woman whose husband is killed and her two children kidnapped by a Comanche war party in 1859. She is rescued by a frontiersman (Hugh Jackman, of course) and Rob will play her son (is that even possible – the makeup department has their work cut out for them).
Although it doesn’t show up on any of the casts’ homepages at IMDb (not that that means anything, after all Rob still shows on his as attending the 2009 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards as “himself” – um – was that him practising to be Harry Houdini for Summit – ok that’s a rumour that I’m starting because I wanted him to do that film), it is being reported at Variety. You can read the respective articles by clicking on the links.Â
Rob I hope that lid in your mouth is because you are signing on the dotted line for this film. Seriously, I”m pretty sure there are quite a few of us that have been hoping that Rob and Hugh would appear in a film together ever since we heard about their little karaoke party.
Since Australia is one of the first countries in the world who get to celebrate Rob’s birthday, we’d like to wish Rob a very Happy Birthday! Rob, we hope that you’d have a wonderful time – full of surprises (good ones only) and loads of fun.
Here is a video I made, dedicated to someone who has (indirectly) changed and brightened up my life – just because he is the way he is. That smile of his can light up even the darkest of moments. And I’m sure this goes for many of his fans out there as well.
According to Robert Pattinson Online, Rob’s short film ‘Summer House’ will be making its debut in the Cannes Film Festival. It will be shown at the Short Film’s Corner on Thursday the 14th of May and Friday the 15th of May.
So this is why Rob needs to be in Cannes. Hmm…I wonder if he’s going to be there for his birthday as well?

Hi everyone. Starting tomorrow, we will begin our countdown to Rob’s 23rd Birthday which is of course as you all know, on May 13.
In between Monday & Wednesday, myself Cilla & Maria will be posting our birthday tributes here on the site. We hope you will all enjoy what we have chosen to post in honour of Rob’s birthday.
Just a little reminder that voting for the inaugural “Pic of the Month” closes next Tuesday 12 May at 6.00 pm (or thereabouts). So there’s still time to pick your favourite of the 3 photos above by either voting here or through the widget on the main page.   And for those of us who can’t decide, it lets you vote for each photo once, but you can’t cheat and vote for your favourite multiple times – believe me I’ve tried.

Amanda Bell of The Examiner has let us know (well not me personally, but I did get a group email) that Rob has been nominated for “Breakthrough Performance Male” at this year’s MTV Movie Awards. Now I’m not sure how many years Rob can win the “breakthrough” award – clearly he broke through last year, but he’s up against the likes of Ben Barnes, Dev Patel and of course, Taylor Lautner.Â
Rob has also been nominated in two other categories thanks to Twilight – “Best Kiss”, but that’s not a surprise is it and “Best Fight” – you get him Rob – Cam deserved it anyway. Iwas going to provide a link for Amanda’s article , but she has proven to me that she’s a tad lazy with her research considering she thinks Rob is up against Zefron, Shia LeBoofhead and Robert Downey Jr (sorry have a soft spot for Rob Jr – must be the name). Â
So if you want to appreciate Rob walking down the red carpet (like the above gif – because who could resist) – show your support by registering your votes for all three here.  You need to sign up, but it doesn’t take very long (trust me). Voting closes on 27 May 2009 since the awards are being shown live in the US on 31 May 2009 (apparently they will be seen on MTV Australia at 4.00 pm on 1 June 2009, with an encore performance at 7.30 pm (for those of us who work). If this changes I will let you know).
