David Michôd chats with RPAU about Robert Pattinson & #TheKing

I had an amazing day today. Saw an excellent Australian film by David’s partner, Mirrah Foulkes, called Judy & Punch that stars Mia Wasikowska and Damon Herriman. Go see it – it’s amazing. Spoke to Mia Wasikowska and told her I also loved her in Damsel. Oh and caught up with David Michôd and had a great chat where we briefly spoke about The King.

David still has a few months of post production. I asked if we would be seeing it in 2019 and David said yes, definitely will be released in 2019 (RPAU: as soon as a date is confirmed, we will let you know.)

David also told me Rob’s performance is excellent. I asked how so. David said Rob’s so crazy and such a psychopath. I said I didn’t realise that was his character. When I asked David how he wanted me to describe Rob’s performance he said “it’s wild and colourful”. We’re going to love it.

For the Chalamet fans – David said as soon as he saw his performance in Call Me By Your Name he knew that was his Hal.
