Hello January.  The Lost City of Z promo is in full swing.  THE LOST CITY OF Z: Mama those stills. Beardy Robert is my weakness even when it’s extreme beard. The UK is gearing up with promo – first I found that the release was “saturation” meaning it will be seen in a lot of cinemas and then Studio Canal UK unleashes a new trailer.  Not to mention they finally updated their release schedule and confirmed the 24 March date. There’s also the chance that London will have a red carpet premiere. Germany is definitely having a premiere, but whether Robert attends Berlinale this year remains to be seen.  The prospect of Promo Rob though is exciting.  Social media is in full swing with German and UK official sites.  More trailers are being unleashed and potential dates confirmed. Meanwhile, the US has an interesting selection of films in which the trailer may be played before. Spain finally has a release date albeit all the way in July. GALAS & PARTIES:  Robert surprised us with an appearance in Paris at a New Year’s celebration on Friday 13 Jan. I love these photos and he is definitely adored by Dior. And then we had another surprises – again from Paris by the look of it – either in 2016 or this year *shrugs* – I don’t mind when it is because that Pascal-Pascale is one lucky doll. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER:  I love that the UK still has screenings of this film. Speaking of which – Australia – not only do you get a distributor, but you are also getting screenings in selected cinemas in March and eventual DVD release. I’m so thrilled about that. The Australian Classification Board also gave it a PG rating.  So we’re all set.  Now for the confirmed date – stay tuned. IFFR posted a video showing behind the scenes of how closing night with Codarts Symphony came about. The Old Theatre in Lublin, Poland, is also having a screening tomorrow. QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  I feel like the US has been waiting an eternity to see Robert’s TE Lawrence. Now just to lock in the exact date.  I also wonder which cut of the film will be released. DAMSEL:  I guess you never know who your driver might be.  They usually make for interesting conversations.  IN OTHER NEWS: How great when Cannes Cosmopolis photos turn up. I updated the “Anticipated Lists” post. Norman Jean Roy is having a laugh at our expense I’m sure. Japan is promoting Queen of the Desert in cinemas. I saw Variety’s review of Person to Person and noticed that David Zellner, Josh & Ben Safdie and Buddy Duress are all in it. Adds to films to see. COMING UP NEXT WEEK: The Old Theatre in Lublin, Poland, is also having a screening tomorrow.  See you next week.
