How fabulous was the movie news this week.  Idol’s Eye is happening – perfect news to wake up to on our 8th anniversary and then we ended the week with Robert and black hair. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: Spain seems to be getting the movie on DVD rather than an actual cinema release – just in time for Christmas though. Italy|Swiss Italians will be seeing the film in 2017 – at least they know it’s coming soon. There’s a premiere screening in Poland that has producer Chris Coen attending next Wednesday.  Japan also has an exhibition of the posters happening at one of their cinemas. Sweden has the chance to see it at Skara Film Festival in November. GOOD TIME:  I think I love the quirkiness of Josh Safdie and agree Carmel “love his vibe”.  Jennifer Jason Leigh has finally been added to cast list on IMDbPro. DIOR:  New photo new photo! QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  Finally the US will see this film in 2017. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Not sure really how they give it an R rating (which I think is our MA15+ equivalent).  Also, new footage emerges from the last week of NYFF54. What an interesting read that article from James Gray in Film Comment is in relation to how they created the colours of the film.  I also came across a variation of the David Godlis photo taken of Robert on the NYFF red carpet. IDOL’S EYE:  Sly Stallone – I’m just thrilled that I get to include this movie on Robert’s slate again. Even better when I can add to our Films page for Robert. HIGH LIFE:  Financing approved from the US – set to co into production in Spring 2017.  It’s shaping up to be a busy year for Robert. GO CAMPAIGN GALA:  Red carpet live tweeted and live streamed. The final tally for #WeGoForRob Birthday project was in excess of $30,000 – that’s a wonderful achievement.  IN OTHER NEWS: Happy to see Mr November! I tweeted an article about filming in Hungary that mentioned Robert, Bel Ami and The Childhood of a Leader.  I also came across an interesting article about how the AFM could impact on indie films.  Screen Daily is keeping us abreast of all film news at AFM 2016.  Michelle is keeping on top of Robert’s films on FOXTEL thankfully.  If you have OSN you can watch Maps to the Stars in Egypt.  I read a great article on Tracking Board about indie films and whether they’re in trouble – apparently not.  It also mentioned both A24 and Bleeker Street are having their best year – smiles. RPAU GIVEAWAY: We’re giving away some bluray/DVDs to celebrate our 8 year milestone.  Gotta be in it to win it.  COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  The Childhood of a Leader is being released in Poland on Friday 11 November, will screen at Skovje Film Festival and can be seen at Robert Burns Theatre in Scotland, Northern Lights cinema, Derbyshire and Rio Cinema, London. You can check out all upcoming screenings at our Film Page or UK cinema roundup.  Great photos of Robert from today thanks to Posh … see you next week.
