A fabulously busy week … THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER:  Sweden has a few screenings coming up – it’s the Sunday movie @kollakristianstad this weekend, the Film Club in Orsa is holding a screening on 1 November and the Skövde Film Festival on 13 November 2016.  Germany has 2 screenings at Heimspiel Film Festival on 17 & 21 November 2016 and if you are in the UK you can see it at Foyle Film Festival on 19 November.  The Polish distributor gave us a great poster and a full version of a still. I came across an interesting article from the company that created the trailer and how they went about it. I know some of you would be interested to read about that. LIFE: Found another screening in Mexico on 25 October 2016. THE LOST CITY OF Z:  The NYFF finally uploaded their HD full press conference and also some photos to their website.  I also came across some social media pics and a few great photos so it goes without saying that the Master Post has also been updated.  As have the reviews especially since the International Cinephile Society had some really great words to say about Robert. I have updated the Bulgarian release date to “TBA” they have removed the November 2016 date. QUEEN OF THE DESERT: I tweeted the new Japanese poster for the film and I also came across the official Japanese website, which now also includes the subtitled trailer which is slightly different to previous trailers I have seen.  The Japanese sure now how to promote a film. In case you can’t recall it’s being released on 21 January 2017.  Italy can watch the film on VOD until 1 February 2017.  Cassian Elwes confirmed on Friday morning (AEST) that the US distributor deal would be announced next week and the film will have a first quarter 2017 release date. It’s been a long time coming for the US. I know it’s not a popular film, but I’ve seen it twice and I really like it. Robert’s performance is stupendous. DIOR:  Posh shared the HQ ad campaigns featured in Corriere della Sera Style (Italy) and GQ Style USA. DAMSEL:   The Zellner Bros announced their film in a very Zellner kind of way.  Love it. GOOD TIME: A24 acquired the North American rights.  I tweeted that I hope they do a better job than they did with The Rover, but in hindsight after having checked out their website, they have actually picked up and recently marketed some incredibly great films.  Room especially given Brie Larson’s Oscar win.  No wonder @Josh_Benny were tweeting about Moonlight the other day too. It looks like A24 are on their A game now.  Also, Deadline reported that Jennifer Jason Leigh was attached – which was news to me (Indiewire are also noting her involvement and Barkhad Abdi) – and that Memento International would be selling to foreign distributors at the American Film Market next week. Fingers tightly crossed we get some news.  I also love Josh_Benny’s reaction to the news. IN OTHER NEWS: I thought Robert kept most of the clothes from Twilight, but perhaps that’s another furphy - Twilight Saga Auction is happening in November and you have a chance to bid to own some of Edward Cullen’s props and costumes.  COMING UP NEXT WEEK:  The Orsa screening of The Childhood of a Leader mentioned above on 1 November, the Keswick Film Club in the UK on Sunday 6 November and let’s not forgot Robert co-chairing the GoGo Gala on Saturday 5 November 2016. Current tally $23,100 Oh and the Queen of the Desert distributor announcement.  Looks like it might be another busy week, so I better rest up … until then.
