Lots of surprises this week including Rob in the window of Dior Homme Sydney and The Childhood of a Leader one of 12 films in competition at 2016 Sydney Film Festival. What a fabulous week we’ve had but it was expected that this week would be special given that Robert turned 30 on Friday. Now let’s get into it. DIOR:  Seeing Rob in the window of Dior Homme’s Sydney Menswear store is definitely a great way to kick off a Monday.  Also very grateful to Dior Homme Sydney for sending us the press kit which gave us the official information about the sunglasses Rob has been wearing in the campaign. Rob’s also been unleashed in Hong Kong which we know thanks to @MyEllaRella. She has a bunch of pics which entices me to get back to HK! MET GALA 2016:  A few more photos from inside the Gala have surfaced thanks to Posh. QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  Updated the list of cinemas screening the film in Australia. Also tweeted about ticket competition via BMagBrisbane (closes 23 May 2016).  Palace Cinemas in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane and Melbourne are screening the film as part of their Golden Movie Club on 25 May 2016.  The catch? Not only do you have to be a Golden Club Member, but you have to be 60+ to join that Club.  The advantage is tix are only $6 and you can take 3 friends who will pay the same – $6. HIGH LIFE: Robert might not have a film at Cannes this year, but he has one for presale. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: Film festival darling – that’s what I”m going to call this film.  We now have a date and time for Paris and I am still pinching myself that it was indeed included in competition as part of the Sydney Film Festival. Loved seeing it in the printed guide which I of course had to get.  Just waiting on BAMCinemaFest to get their act together and tell us the date. We were spoilt with new stills/photos of Robert as Charles Marker – thank you Posh for the larger pics *mwah*. With the release of the film in Sweden this week I updated the Movie Review post and TriArt Film shared a great little poster. Speaking of posters – there’s also a new poster featuring Tom Sweet – it’s included with BAMCinemaFest post. The only downside this week to TCOAL was the journo who interviewed Brady. Why you would ruin the ending of a film for anyone is just plain stupidity. Seriously could not believe it when I read it – have managed to say relatively spoiler free until then. So please if you don’t want details of a final scene don’t click on the source link. I’ve refused to add it to the post. #weGOforRob: $17,400 and counting.  Incredible effort for everyone. Makes me smile when I think we can all band together and do some good in honour of Robert. THE LOST CITY OF Z: Looks like Bulgaria has joined the release date queue for this year.  Would be amazing if we had 3 of Rob’s films to watch this year at the cinema. IN OTHER NEWS: Hope you enjoyed our 30 hour countdown to Robert’s birthday – we definitely had fun selecting our 7 pics each – hmm perhaps we could do that randomly each month to celebrate Robert’s 30th all year. Off to hold a meeting.  Caitlin Cronenberg spoilt us with her pics from Cannes 2012 too. Well let’s see if we hear some High Life filming news next week or even a new film coming out of sales from Cannes? You just never know when it comes to what Rob has up his sleeve.  Until then …

This week was so big I bet Maria had to start writing her review a week ago in order to meet her deadline.
I cant believe TCOAL spoilt the ending for you, Maria. That is madness. May i please thank you for once again taking one for the team. All our RPAU girls work so hard.
One more time. . HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROB.

I can’t believe that journo – total madness. Sorry you had to read that, Maria, but thanks for the warning. I bet there were more than a few annoyed readers of his article.
Another great week of Rob. Hope your ‘meeting’ went well. I do like the idea of 30 pics to enjoy every month for the coming year!
