Well … QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  The Philippines has a distributor and we didn’t have to wait too long to find out it was being released on 2 March 2016 exclusively through Ayala Mall Cinemas. Strangely I came across 2 screenings of the film in Mexico this week. For those interested in the copyright case, I tweeted a link to an article that also attaches a copy of the initiating pleading. Lebanon seems to have pushed back the release date to a date yet to be determined. There seems to be a big demand for the screening at the Belgrade FF so if you haven’t got your tickets and you want to go, better get a wriggle on. Thanks to @QueenfilmFan we know about a screening in Germany for International Women’s Day. Fitting don’t you think. I came across the trailer posted on YouTube by Vodafone Television (Iceland) and Cambodia is having an exclusive screening on 28 February 2016. Israel looks to have pushed back the release .. again. LIFE: UniversCine (VOD in France) has the film listed as “coming soon” along with a few other of Rob’s films – The Rover & Cosmopolis.  Maps to the Stars is currently available if you are able to access.  Another great DVD review where they state “Pattinson is the main reason to seek this film out”. Taiwan is releasing the film on 11 March, it was confirmed to me by the distributor and then Sally found the trailer with Chinese subtitles that has been posted to coincide with the Taiwenese release. The official poster has now also been unleashed too. Looks like Germany has to wait a week or so to get their hands on the bluray|DVD, but I don’t think anyone will complain about that. HIGH LIFE: We kicked off the week with me finding a mention of Wild Bunch selling the film at EFM, which I tweeted.  The Playlist interview gives us a little insight into the mind of Claire Denis and also what we might expect from the soundtrack. Such an intriguing storyline so I cannot stress how much I’m looking forward to this film. Front Row Filmed love to distribute Rob’s films and they haven’t disappointed by adding High Life to their slate. LOST CITY OF Z: How about that glorious pic of beardy Rob on the set with the producer. See there is a God. Earlier in the week Aaron Williamson posted a pic of himself with James Gray with the quote “At the hockey game with my big brother, James Gray. His movie this fall is going to blow you away. #TheLostCityOfZ #LCOZ #JMFG”. He then responds with “It was a blast but when this hits theaters it’s going to be something epic.” For those unaware, Aaron was the fitness trainer on LCOZ. I think his use of “brother” is just a term of endearment. DIOR:  Dior have finally welcomed DiorIntenseRob to their Tumblr account *heavenly*. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: When you read a review that states “We are witnessing the birth of a great filmmaker” you know you are in for something special with a film. I’m thrilled for Rob that he is involved with Brady from the get go. Hopefully Brady is the type of director who likes to stick with actors he has worked with before especially given that he’s friends with Rob already. IN OTHER NEWS: This has nothing to do with Rob other than I tweeted a pic of him with Spencer Susser who was one half of the duo that won Tropfest. You may all recall him as a member of BlueTongue. Talented bunch – remember Rob really wants to be part of that group #ifonly. The Playlist posted an article about Harmony Korine and The Trap – I know which movie I want made first.  Jules edits are amazing amazing aren’t they. I sound like a broken record but her work is out of this world.  Lucky people in Geneva who can spend the weekend watching Rob on the cinema with Maps to the Stars and then Cosmopolis.  And to wrap this all up this week – Owen Laukkanen, who wrote The Professionals, cheekily asked Rob to crowdfund the making of his book into a movie. Which might sound strange, but Rob has spoken about the project before and The Professionals was one of his favourite books. Interested to see if this ever eventuates. Can’t wait to see what next week brings … until then.

Poor us. We have the double whammy of a woefully inadequate language to describe Ron AND Jules’ creations.
Other than that continuous downer its been a great week. Thanks for the wrap up Maria
