So here we are week 2 of February and WOW.  HIGH LIFE: We have been given a longer synopsis for the film both in the articles earlier this week and the most detailed on Wild Bunch’s website. I won’t discuss what has been revealed to respect those who don’t want spoilers. But holy hell I can’t wait to meet Monte. One thing I will say is that I love Rob’s film choices and cannot wait to see what else he has lined up to unleash this year for us.  I also love that Des Hamilton used Jules’ #TCOAL wallpaper on his casting call tweets for this film. Truly amazing especially when you consider that he cast TCOAL. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: I love listening to directors talk about their films. Who knew Brady had been working on TCOAL for so long.  Every little bit of information just gets me more excited to see this film.  No doubt as excited as the UK & Ireland who has found a distributor and will be seeing the film in August 2016! I’ve updated the international review roundup – there’s some great comments being said about Brady’s directorial debut. Good on him. So excited that Rob’s involved with this film.  LIFE: At first I really thought that Russian theatrical poster was an edit, but then I realised why would they do that. Also there appears to be a new Russian Life FB page - Capella Films is somehow involved with distributing the film. They’ve also uploaded a Russian trailer to their YouTube.  Sitges is screening Life again in Spanish and then with subtitles. I know I’d be watching both if I spoke Spanish that is. The Netherlands has a great idea – Pathé cinemas has included the film as part of it’s 50plusbio and it will be screening from 18 February through to 19 July at various cinemas. I came across another great DVD review which said “Robert Pattinson … in his best and most mature performance to date” so I’ve updated the review roundup. LOST CITY OF Z:  Australians have to wait until early 2017 to see this or late this year if we’re lucky. QUEEN OF THE DESERT: Looks like straight to DVD is happening for Sweden, Italy and Finland.  Shame they may not see it on the big screen since the cinematography is beautiful. Israel will be fortunate enough to see it on screen as part of the Women’s Festival in Holon. I also tweeted that the producers have filed a copyright lawsuit and I say good on them. Never have I searched for a Rob film and come across so many sites for illegal download.  It’s absolutely ridiculous. You know what else is ridiculous? How ridiculously good looking Rob is as T E Lawrence – keep those stills coming please. Also, I came across the film rating for the US – PG13, I’m not sure if we knew that. The official site states it still hasn’t been rated. THE TRAP:  Harmony gave us a little update via his interview with Dazed magazine in light of his art exhibition in London. Not going to lie – I was a little disappointed that the interview seemed slightly negative about The Trap going forward. Thankfully a more positive interview was provided by Amuse. I like that he’s still going to make it and explains why he wrote the other script. Not sure I like the “dig” at the actor that had to be recast because it’s not like we can’t deduce who he is talking about. IN OTHER NEWS: I loved our flashback to Berlinale 2015 and TIFF 2014, but I don’t love how difficult Michelle makes our choices for 12 months of Rob.  What I do love is birthdays at RPAU. I’m also very much in love with Jules’ edit above. I think it’s my favourite to date – the shade of blue – Rob’s profile. It’s what dreams are made of. We celebrated Vertigo’s this week and I hope she has many many more fabulous Rob celebrated ones to come. So on that note, let’s see what next week brings – hopefully some news of more distribution of TCOAL seeing as it’s being screened at EMF2016 today.  Until then …

And Congrats to Jules. I ditto Maria’s sentiments re the banner. Awesome work. When the pro’s pick up on her work, there can be no doubt
Re the illegal downloads – I’d rather wait a decade than steal from Rob or other artists. Respect.
