Let’s take a look at what’s happened in the world of Rob this week. LIFE: Life keeps popping up with release dates and special screenings.  I know I posted that Turkey would release the film on 4 December and  Marsgate Cinemas has it listed in the coming soon for that date. Ropery Hall, North Lincolnshire is having a screening in March 2016 and it’s never too early to pencil that into your diary. I’ve also updated the US Cinema Screenings adding Denver and San Diego to the list.  Cineplex Canada also confirmed to me that it will be “selected” cinemas premiering the film in Canada on 4 December 2015.  I found a Vancouver cinema that will screen Life between 6 and 9 December.  Also we’re still all pondering whether that’s a new still or a screencap? Who knows since it’s so hard to tell. Seems a good quality screencap though. Japan is gearing up for the release in December and it’s doing some wonderful tie ins, a cafe serving 1950s food, a James Dean photo exhibition including double passes and totes and apparently the movie was voted in the best dressed awards. I don’t know what to make of that lol. How cool is @mykromag’s black and white vid though – sometimes I wish Anton had filmed the entire movie in black and white. QUEEN OF THE DESERT: Can’t believe South Korea just sprung it on us that they’re screening the film as part of their Cine Cube Film Festival on Sunday. Lucky ducks. Lebanon you are giving me whiplash with the changing of release dates as are you Jordan. I hope these two new dates stick. GOOD TIME: “Major Hollywood Actor” is how Rob is described in the open casting call. I also saw the words “prison scene” and “bad boy” and I’m officially *DED*. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER: I’ve been keeping an eye out for the Dubai Intl. Film Festival dates and I noticed on Wednesday morning that they removed the poster previously shown for the film and replaced it with that great pic of Rob as Charles Marker. They eventually updated dates and times that evening too so now we know it’s at 2.15 pm on 12 and 16 December 2015. You can also purchase individual tickets for the screenings.  Sally found a great article in AnOtherMag including TCoaL as one of ten exceptionally underrated films “Robert Pattinson pops up as a politico, but the most revelatory thing is Scott Walker’s ominous and inspired, thundering score.” Everyone mentions the score. I can’t wait to see and hear this film. HIGH LIFE: The Guardian mentioned High Life as part of an article on upcoming sci-fi films.  Thanks to Sally for finding that one. IN OTHER NEWS: Werner Herzog is hosting his Rogue Film School in March 2016. What an amazing opportunity. I laughed to myself when I read the conditions that said no photography, no mobile phones – given that Werner refuses to have a mobile. Smart man.  Anton Corbijn’s on the jury of the Marrakech Film Festival – I hope they include one of Rob’s films in their lineup.  How great to see that The Rover still makes it onto some cinema screens especially in regional towns. What a treat.  Cassian Elwes was asked by Vanessa what Rob was like to work with and it’s no surprise that his answer was “He’s so talented and so nice”. Also for those who are always interested in how a film is distributed, marketed and the costs involved I tweeted an article by InsideFilm. It’s so informative as is the full article that is on the screenblog. As the article mentions, it’s pretty rare to get this amount of in depth information about the industry.  I very much recommend that you have a read especially since it talks about not always having access to the film’s cast to help promote. So that’s it for me this week, I have an inkling that we may get some new photoshoot pics  – not sure why but it’s been on my mind for the past few days. Fingers crossed. Until next week …
