I like the fact that I started this week with Movie Monday – Art always manages to put a smile on my face.  Little did I know how prophetic it would be.  David Gillespie, who was the stills photographer for How To Be decided to treat us with a black and white photo of Rob as Art for Throwback Thursday.  I decided to retweet his post from back in July of that wonderful video he put together of BTS stills and guess what - David tweeted us the heads up that he’s putting together a new video of Rob photos. Stay tuned peeps it’s coming next month.  How fabulous will that be.  I can’t wait to see what beauties he shares with us.  Before I get into individual movies, let’s just say that there’s been lots of tweeting and retweeting about “Life” especially given the hype for the German and UK release.  It’s been fabulous and I’ve been a little rusty in the “deluge”.  I may not link all of them here, but if you get a chance you can check out our timeline (and you can still do that even if you don’t have twitter).  So let’s get to it. LIFE: There have been some great reviews of Rob’s performance and even if some don’t like the film, they still praise him.  The Times UK’s interview with Rob was such a great read.  I love how everyone who comes into contact with Rob professionally (and unprofessionally) always has sweet words to say about him.  It really is a great indication of what Rob is like as a person. I also like that Rob told Associated Press that he chooses roles that make him happy.  After all it’s his life and well when Rob’s happy so am I.  So it’s Win/Win. Then there was the NME and the The Irish Times interviews. The cover of NME Magazine alone was pretty damn hot and the interview with Rob really shows how amazing he is. Like we needed further proof, but I love that he’s not “caged” by the mega studios wanting to make more money from him. Hadn’t realised how much I missed promo Rob. The onslaught of interviews is reminding me of days gone by when well yeah the juggernaut of Twi was happening. Not complaining, just out of practice. I also loved what you could almost hear from the audio/dubbed interview with Rob saying he doesn’t have a selfie face. There is no hope for me if one of the most photogenic men around claims he can’t do selfies. Me thinks that’s another Rob porkie. There’s been some great interviews from Anton too giving us a little background to Rob and his character. The film seems to be included in lots of film festivals too. Can’t believe I almost missed the screening at the Atlantic Film Festival. Thank God for google alerts and the article sitting in my inbox of it being the pick of the day. Better late than never I say.  Greece is screening the film a day ahead of its theatrical release at the Athens Film Festival. Did I mention that I love that the Greek poster for “Life” states “Pattinson is Excellent”. Tru dat. Germany really got into the swing of having a few premieres for Life before the actual release date. I like that. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for New Zealand, who had an initial release date of 10 September 2015, that got pushed back to 24 September 2015 and now according to Transmission won’t have a theatrical release at all. I guess, and I’m looking at this positively, the blu-ray/DVD will be released on 17 December 2015 and that’s not too far away. Still disappointing though.  I feel for you Kiwis I really do.  The UK will also get the DVD soon by the look of it or at least they can preorder. THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER:  I noticed that Protagonist updated their synopsis for the film and gave a little more info.  Michael Epp also posted a Throwback Thursday photo of Rob on the set of the film.  Rob is so dapper.  Wish we could hear some news about distribution. We did get a glimpse at a few more castmates though.  QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  Guess I know where a few of us Aussies will be in October/November 2015.  How bloody fantastic that we will get to see the film in exactly a month from today.  Perth I’m still trying to find out if Luna Cinemas will screen. If you remember with “Life”, they eventually came on board so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.  On Sunday morning (our time) Cassian Elwes tweeted that he was going to get 5 numbered photos of Rob and Nicole and have Werner Herzog sign them to help raise money to send 2 female filmmakers to Sundance.  I know someone who will be very interested in that – looks at bike owner. This is the photo that will be numbered.  I’ve tweeted the links to purchase for both here and here.  I hope if you are interested in helping you get the photos/posters.  I noticed that 2 of the photos of Rob and Nicole are already gone.  Wish the Aussie dollar wasn’t so bad. UNTITLED CLAIRE DENIS SCI-FI PROJECT: Which might have a title after all – High Life – thanks to the keen eye from Sally who noticed it on the casting director’s website. Rob seems to be having a theme “Life”, “Good Times”, “High Life”  hmmmm  maybe his next project can be “Life with Maria” – no?  Just kidding. IN OTHER NEWS:  The SA Film Corporation launched a new website on Monday and I tweeted how great it looked.  Of course no bias from us because it features Rob and The Rover. Also I do not think it’s a coincidence that Rob’s photo is included under “attraction incentive“! How cool is that new video interview with Rob doing the New Jersey accent “Two Shots, Two Beers”.  Love him. I also love The Rover Press Conference portraits that keep on giving.  Actually what’s not to love.  Can’t wait to see what next week brings – until then …
