RPAU-the-week-in-review-13-19Jul15
*CARTWHEELS THROUGH RPAU*  How good is it to see “Australia” listed amongst the release dates for LIFE.  Carmel I didn’t need to send the bat signal I saw you were here bright and early on Saturday morning.  Transmission have most definitely confirmed to me that that is the release date.  Sit tight and I’ll will hopefully let you all know when and where it’s going to be screened (including our Kiwis followers).  Also I’m told no premiere is planned (for Sydney) when I asked.  LIFE is also screening at the Guanajuato Film Festival in Mexico next week not once but twice.  Lucky Mexicans.  In other film news:  THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER is on track with Studio L’Equipe tweeting that they have started the colour grading on the film.  MAPS TO THE STARS:  You might be wondering why Venezuela is in the release section again.  It’s because the distributor’s website has further confirmation that it will be released on 31 July 2015.  I’m just being thorough.   Also love that it’s being released on VOD in The Netherlands and finally for those who like to collect DVDs|Blurays you can add Hong Kong to your collection.  I know there are some of you out there that do that.  THE ROVER:  Dakkhansa is in full The Rover mode with posting articles and interviews etc.  I tweeted a link to one of my fave Rob’s interviews that now has Japanese subtitles “if you just work with auteurs you will never be disappointed”.  Yes Rob we know and we’re not.  Less than a week now for Japan to see the pure brilliance of the film.  QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  Germany is really behind this film unsurprisingly of course but it seems the economic crisis in Greece will play a part on whether Greeks get to see QotD in 2015.  Japan doesn’t look like it will be seeing it this year either. PRODUCTION UPDATES for Lost City of Z and Good Time.  I’ll take anything I can with those two films to be honest.  THINGS I TWEETED ABOUT: Sometimes I tweet articles that mention Rob or things I can’t justify doing a post about.  Like when  Slash Film thought that Rob should be considered for the role of Han Solo.  Ethan Anderton said “Undoubtedly plenty are going to pitch a fit about this selection, but I stand by the fact that Robert Pattinson is an extremely talented actor, and the sooner we all forget about The Twilight Saga, the better we’ll all be.”  I have a new crush and his name is Ethan.  I also tweeted a link to an Indiewire article that was a fascinating read about 4 things to influence a distributor’s decision to buy a film.  Looks like we fall into a “core group” of an established fanbase that translates to ticket sales.  Like we didn’t know that!  And how about the intriguing news to come out this week that Rob interviewed Jamie Bell for Interview Magazine.  Now we just have to sit and wait and see if it’s actually Rob and not someone else who has the same name.  Although I feel that @InterviewMag would have tweeted someone by now to say it’s not THE Robert Pattinson.  Cannot wait to see how Rob handled this if it is in fact him.  We should know in the next week or so..  Looking forward to seeing what next week brings.  Seems to be all systems go so until then …

LOL @ Carmel. So glad to read your enthusiasm for AUSTRIA yet again (I couldn’t help myself. I know it’s an easy mistake – you’ll get me back when I next press ‘submit’ without checking …..)

Thanks Maria, from another dinosaur. Oh, ” You might be wondering why Venezuela is in the release section again.” That cracked me up. No offense to anyone intended. ‘Thorough’ sure is your middle name …….

Forgot to mention, that Indiewire article was well worth the read. Interesting point re a cast and their presence on social media. I guess Rob has his elves (like RPAU) to thank re getting project info to us. It certainly seems that there are very few actors/musicians without a (public) presence on twitter etc these days. (I’ll join when he does …… Maybe. Lol)

Rob (and you Sue) would be crazy to join social media. There are days I want to pack it all in – why would anyone who doesn’t need to subject themselves to the internet police or trolls. Honestly question it myself at least once a week.

@Maria. Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be joining the craziness any time soon. But with a nine yr old daughter, I figure at some some point in the future I’ll have to go there, just so I have some clue re what the hell is going on!
