After the huge week we had last week it was almost a welcome relief to have a quieter one this week, especially so we could really absorb how fantastic February/March 2015 is going to be. Now we are just gearing up for next Thursday’s AACTA Awards hoping beyond hope that Rob wins his first real recognition for his portrayal of Reynolds and David gets the director’s nod *fingerstightlycrossed*. An advantage of quiet times appears to be that we get spoilt by Jules, not just with our wonderful banner celebrating the Aussie awards but also with great wallpapers, twitter and facebook banners. I sound like a broken record, but we are so so fortunate to have Jules as part of RPAU. There are imitators out there, but for me they don’t seem to have the same passion and respect for Rob that Jules does when she creates her little pieces of art. Quiet times also allow us to spend time reminiscing about Rob: The Apple Store, JakesTakes’ interview for Remember Me and Michelle spoiling us with Cannes Rob and the Friday Flashback. So much goodness. It’s Rob how can it be anything else. Film news wise – Queen of the Desert is listed as “released” on IMDbPro, and France got a release date of 30 September for LIFE. Mona Fastvold still teasing us on her instagram with shots in Budapest. I don’t post separately about this but I do “lurk” her twitter and insta for little updates like this. I’ll be posting don’t you worry the day we get confirmation that filming has in fact started. However I did come across one of the keynote speakers at the Gothenburg International Film Festival 2015 – Helena Danielsson, Executive Producer, Brain Academy “is currently in pre-production with the feature debut The Childhood of a Leader by American actor/writer/director Brady Corbet, starring Bérénice Bejo, Robert Pattinson and Stacy Martin. *clapshands*. We know that both QoTD and Life are “coming soon” to Australia thanks to Transmission Films website, but how soon we just don’t know yet. I finally finished my Maps to the Stars Review Roundup. It’s really interesting to see Rob garnering more positive responses than negative even with such a small role. I think I’m going to spend some time going back over Rob’s earlier films like Remember Me and Water for Elephants to see what kind of reviews he received for his acting then to get an idea of how far he’s progressed in the eyes of the critics. So let’s end this week with happy thoughts – Rob winning the Best Supporting Actor for The Rover on Thursday. I know some of you are expecting Rob to attend. I’ve had a few people reach out to us hoping we know or have heard rumours – if he is coming it’s being kept very close to their chests. I’ll be honest I was not really expecting Rob to be here, so if he does turn up it will surprise me more than most of you. But I’m more than happy to be surprised.

Adore this week’s ‘cover’. I love the quiet weeks too – we can take a deep breath and take time to smell the roses as it were, look back over the many many beautiful photos taken of him over the years. And yes, I agree, Maria – we can never say enough about the brilliantly talented Jules and the wonderful art she creates and shares with us. Even if Rob doesn’t get the actual award, the nomination wallpapers are a wonderful reward in themselves. Thanks, girls!
Totally agree – can’t say thank you enough to Jules and all she does for RPAU. (Definitely another honorary Aussie – Jules, you’re in good company!). And for sure, quiet times are great for appreciating all that’s gone before and reminding us all how spoilt we are (thanks Maria & Michelle). Fingers crossed for Rob and The Rover this Thursday. And if Maria should happen to be very pleasantly surprised…… Well, wouldn’t THAT be a lovely bonus for us all?!
Oh lordy!! You’re all being way too lovely!! Thank you so much, I don’t know where else I’d be so thank you for giving me a home here at RPAU!! Thanks Sue, I’m thrilled to be considered an Honorary Aussie!! I love sharing anything I create with you all here, can’t thank you all enough for your kind words and support. 😠wonderful review write up Maria. Loved it!!
I think Jules would have been a much better choice for Australia Day Honors than one of the ones we actually got. Never mind the title though, Jules, I will still bow down to your awesome talent and lovely nature.
Lolol Carmel! Thank you my lovely. 😘😘
Weekly Reviews awesome, and love your written summary of the week Maria. Just something special about having the Rob week drawn together. Thanks to all you girls at RPAU and to you Jules, always a treat to see your banners, exceptional. Roll on Feb/March – breathless with anticipation!
Thanks @Bee Kaye I’m really glad we got this up and running in November. And I enjoy putting together my thoughts on what has happened *hugs*
