Well wasn’t this week a surprise in the best way.  I love that we decided to do RPAU Week in Review back in November because it means we can rewind and repeat the epicness of weeks like this.  No wonder we heard word that trailers were coming soon.  Soon meaning we should be getting the trailers for both QoTD and Life before or just after the commencement of the Berlinale, but at least that means we will have seen the trailers some time within the next 4 weeks.  So let’s just recap the awesomeness:   Queen of the Desert World Premiere and In Competition at Berlinale in February.  CHECK.  Life World Premiere at Berlinale in February.  CHECK.  New castmates for The Childhood of A Leader and hopefully filming in early February. CHECK.  Rob nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Canadian Screen Awards in March.  CHECK.  What an “amazeballs” week!  The week started off with watching and listening to Rob on the Canada AM Extended Interview and that’s always a bonus.  The only fly in the ointment was the disappearance of Idol’s Eye completely from IMDbPro not just from Rob’s page, but I’m not going to dwell on that.  Nope.  Let’s just focus on the positives.  Like the gems we posted of Rob from the Twilight Press Conference 2008 (or as Carmel endearingly refers to them “Red Rob”) that I most definitely hadn’t seen before.  The fabulous HQ stills of Rob as Cedric from 2005 and the HQ of Rey by the car in The Rover.  Beautiful.  I finally finished putting together The Rover Review Roundup after a great many hours reading and extracting relevant comments about Rob.  How great was it to finally see the pros outweigh the cons – well for those of you who braced yourselves to read the cons *sideeyesJules*.  There are definitely fanboys out there and others who finally had the guts to admit Rob’s pretty damn good.  Just so you know I’ve started preparing one for Maps to the Stars and will continue to do them for future films as and when they come out because even though we have always posted initial reactions and reviews, I thought we could actually use these review posts as a forum to discuss Rob’s films and/or performance once we’ve seen the film or, if not discuss, note your opinions of Rob’s performance and the film itself.  To make sure it’s easy for you to find them, I’ll link the post to the relevant movie on the “Films” page.  That way if people don’t want spoilers they can avoid the comments until they’re ready to get involved (or not).  Holy Moly that Dior pic *thud*.  And whilst I just pick myself up off the floor lets get back to the awesomeness of Berlinale.  How about that fantabulous new still for Life. *sigh* And in case you didn’t see our tweet, Caitlin Cronenberg posted the new still on her instagram with the comment “The stills are going to start rolling out soon! #setlife #wintershoot #stillphotographer“.  *SOON* I say bring it!  We’re more than ready.

Cannot thank you enough for the review compilation, Maria. It was riveting to read, even the ‘nay’ sayers revealed a lot about the reviewer’s themselves (negative Nellys relying on stereotypical comments). You did a brilliant job. Thank you so much!

So so brilliant, thanks a million for pulling all this together Maria. Your recap always makes it so much more! 🙂 What a week, what a week. I’m still pinching myself and as if we hadnt had more than enough good stuff this week, THAT DiorRob image surfaced!!!! *eyes like saucers* yummo!!

Thank you @Trish I’m glad you enjoyed it. It made me smile whilst I was doing it. I should have Maps up by end of this week, but I’m not expecting anywhere near the praise he received for Rey.

I have an idea in my head for something else with reviews as well … stay tuned.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the alternate covers for this post! I’m sure NO-ONE would complain if, in future weeks, it was equally too difficult to decide ……. *just saying*. Thanks Maria. Now let’s look forward to some of those CC Life stills *yes please, we’re ready!*
