Further on from Maria having received confirmation that we will be graced with the presence of Rob’s dress robes, as seen in HP and the Goblet of Fire and with just under 6 weeks to go (excites) – we have received the following information.
11 October 2011Â
“Under 6 weeks until Harry Potterâ„¢ casts a spell on Sydney
Harry Potter: The Exhibition opens 19 November
There are less than six weeks to go until the highly anticipated Harry Potterâ„¢: The Exhibition opens in Sydney for its exclusive Australian run at the Powerhouse Museum, beginning on 19 November 2011.
Tickets are selling fast as fans across Australia book their opportunity to step inside Harry Potter’s world where hundreds of props and costumes from the world-famous films will be showcased.”
(back to Vertigo) You can read more after the jump and enjoy some screen caps I made last year in celebration of the precious Cedric Diggory. And yes, Hooded Rob has been strategically placed there to help guide you to the “Read more” button.
Media Release Continued …
“For the first time in Australia, the exhibition enables fans to see authentic film artefacts displayed in elaborate settings inspired by the film’s sets and locations in Hogwartsâ„¢ School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, including the Gryffindorâ„¢ common room, Hagrid’s hut, the Great Hall and much more.
Objects large and small will be on display, from Harry’s and Ron’s four-poster beds to the wardrobe in which the Boggart™ was kept and took the shape of one’s greatest fear; to items from Professor Slughorn’s potions classroom including vials used to hold Felix Felicis; and a portrait gallery featuring some of the original paintings seen in the films.
The incredible artistry and craftsmanship that went into making the props, costumes, and creatures that appear in Harry Potter’s world can now be fully appreciated in this one-of-a-kind exhibition.
“The meticulous detail and creativity reflected by so many of the wonderful artefacts on display, which are often only seen fleetingly on the cinema screen, can now be enjoyed in this immersive Harry Potter experience,†said Dr Dawn Casey, Director, Powerhouse Museum.
“This is a truly unique exhibition that showcases the work of numerous and diverse artists and designers behind the magnificent costumes, sets, props and backdrops that created an enchanting world in the Harry Potter film series,†said Dr Casey.
Must-see artefacts in the exhibition include: Harry Potter’s glasses, wand and Nimbus 2000™; the Time-Turner™ used by Hermione Granger™; the Golden Snitch™; the Philosopher’s Stone™; dozens of costumes worn by Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Dumbledore™, Sirius Black™, Lord Voldemort™ and his Death Eaters; as well as several of the creatures from the films including Dobby™ the house-elf, the Hungarian Horntail dragon, Buckbeak™ the Hippogriff and a baby Thestral™.
Fans will also be able to be sorted by the Sorting Hatâ„¢, step inside a recreation of Hagrid’s hut and sit in his oversized armchair, pass a Quaffle through Quidditchâ„¢ hoops, and pull Mandrakes out of their pots.”
