Maria has just spoken to the Ritz Cinema in relation to doing a special screening of Little Ashes in Sydney. If you are interested in seeing this film on the big screen (remember it has yet to be seen in cinemas in Australia) please let us know which of the following dates you would prefer – given that the first one is just over 2 weeks away. I suspect that it will be an evening screening and not during the day. You can do this by voting in our poll at the bottom of this post.
We are just trying to help coordinate this event, so please don’t provide us with alternate dates or whether you would prefer on weekend. If we get enough interest then it may be possible that the movie might have further screenings. Also, the movie will be rated MA15+ here in Australia, not R. This means that if you are aged under 15, you must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian in order to see the movie.
So exciting. I’ll do everything in my power to get down to sydney to see it no matter what date its on
SO excited they’re doing this! Salvador Dali is my favourite Artist, Robert Pattinson playing him in (what looks like, so far!) an fantastic performance, pure AWESOMENESS!! bring it on I’ll be there!
@Natisse – Sure is so exciting. Rob’s performance in this film is just brilliant. Cannot put into words how amazing it is. Adore this film, just so so beautiful. All the cast are just perfect.
Ahhhhhh totally squealed when I saw this!!! I still haven’t seen Little Ashes, I was so annoyed that it wasn’t going to be shown in cinemas & I’d have to get the dvd to watch it first, so was putting off ordering it…. Soooo YAY I can see it on the big screen first, the way it should be!!! 😀 😀
Thanks soo much to the organisers!! Woot woot!!
Also, hi Natisse! xD
Would be great to see it in Melbourne as well…..have been trying to find out when it will be available on DVD here in Australia. Lucky Sydney – hope you guys get to see it on the big screen.
Linda – we are working on Melbourne too. Once it has limited cinema release I suspect it will be released on DVD.
Michelle and Maria, will you give us notice before tickets go on sale please? Thank you again for doing this, it’s fantastic!!
Natisse – we will do a post in the next day or so to confirm when the screening will be and provide link to how to get tickets. I am actually helping Kojo Pictures with getting this movie into cinemas.
If you read my post I asked that noone post any comments that don’t relate to which date you want. Please don’t get offended if your comment is unapproved. Sorry but I’m trying to get a cinema release I am well aware where else it is available.
Maria, AWESOME!! thank you so much! I will have a question for you after you announce when it will be, will send you a message. Thank you again!!
Oh and for those wondering whether LA will be R rated in Australia – it won’t. It has an MA16+ rating.
Excellent news – would love to see this on the big screen. Hope I can manage to get to Sydney for the event.
You guys rock! Seriously, I am so excited. I am so there. Thanks so much. Sqeeeee
Girls – it is so unfair!!! I just got home this morning from my trip to Sydney – fantastic night at the Ritz then on to Melbourne – saw New Moon again with another online mate and now you tell me this!! How much is this gorgeous boy going to cost me?? You know I would spend anything and everything I have on Rob – but seriously??? What about Perth? Do you think I could tee up something like your screening here in Perth???
I hope so.
I’ll be there with bells on which you already know ;P (Well, maybe not bells, but I’ll be excited, lol)
@Joanne – I’m working on Perth. Don’t worry we are doing all we can so that this brilliant film is released (even for one screening) around Oz.
Hopefully will be there, gotta work on mum though haha.
Thanks for letting us know!! 🙂
I love my LA DVD, but this film was made for the big screen.
May the force be with you Maria. What good work you do.
I’d attend as long as I could punch anyone who screams in the mouth.
You girls are fantastic!
We have been enquiring about this at cinemas in Melbourne & they keep telling us it has no distribution in Oz.
The Astor has been interested and enthusiastic about screening it but say they can’t get rights to screen it.
Would so love to see How to Be on the bigscreen too.
Has anyone seen a Remember Me trailer on the bigs screen here yet?
YAY FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! Count me in!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
@Kespax can you email me via the site. I’ve introduced one of the Melbourne cinemas to the distributors, so if you want to give me details of The Astor I’d be happy to call them. As for How to Be – I can also introduce them to the distributors for this and see where it takes them.
Hi Maria, any news yet on the screening, by any chance?
Ooooo thanks Maria, will email you.
