And I’m not talking about the beer in Portland.  MTV’s Larry Carroll recently interviewed Chris Weitz about, what else, but New Moon.  He calls the article “New Moon Director Finds The Cure for Rob Pattinson Withdrawal” (like that is even possible) but believe it or not, it’s actually not a bad article.  For example:

“MTV: You’re in the unenviable position of needing to stay true to the source material but also needing to find more screen time for one of the world’s biggest movie stars. How did you go about doing that?

Weitz: [We wanted to avoid] just randomly inserting Rob throughout the movie in a back-at-the-ranch sort of way, which would just be about box office and us being worried about whether people would deal with the darkness of the second book. People are actually very ready for [the dark] aspect of it. What we basically did was to take the aural hallucinations that Bella has of Edward and turn them into visual hallucinations. But I wanted to do them very subtly — so that it wasn’t whacking you over the head with CGI — and to give you the sense that you have when you are broken up with and when you are really longing for someone. They are both not there at all and there all the time. And so, the notion that you have of someone’s presence as absence is what we’re portraying. You’ll see quite a lot of Rob in the film, but it’s seen subjectively, through Bella’s eyes. It’s also in dreams that she has of him as well. It strikes this very fine balance between too much Rob and too little Rob.

MTV: For a lot of fans, there’s no such thing.

Weitz: Well, I know for a lot of people there’s no such thing as too much Rob. But we’ve got a nice dose of Taylor to sweeten any Rob deficiencies. It is a disease that can only be treated with Vitamin T, for Taylor. “

Too much Rob???? Chris at least you acknowledge that it’s just not possible for too much Rob – we need our daily dose of Vitamin R which is far better for us than Vitamin T.   Seeing as there’s only 13 weeks to go, I suspect we will be seeing a lot more interviews like this.  If you want to read the full article, then please click on the highlighted link above.  Thanks to RPOdotcom for the hint.

Too much Rob – LOL absolutely impossible. Sorry Chris but the dose of Vitamin T just isn’t going to work for me LOL!!! Vitamin R (love that btw Maria) is the only vitamin we require & we definitely need it on a daily basis.

Thanks for posting this Maria, I enjoyed reading it. Chris seems like a nice man, I like him a lot. Getting so close to NM now, there will definitely be a lot more interviews like this for sure. Looking forward to hopefully seeing some more movie stills, only Rob ones though of course LOL!!

LOL Michelle – yes only Rob stills, like we would post anything else on the site (unless, of course, one of the other cast members happens to be in the background or get their big head in the way).

Chris is a funny guy!! Loved some of his comments in this article especially “We showed two new scenes, and each one focused on abdominal muscles”. LOL
    But…..
Vitamin T will definately not cure a Rob deficiency sorry Chris but I know what I need 🙂

Chris, I think you are a zen style cool guy and all, but sorry, vitamin R is all one needs to survive. Don’t be pushing me no T business. It’s already bad enough I’m going to have to look at the ceiling when Taylor is on screen. lol

The Clocktower photos still make me gasp, I can’t wait till the movie. I think I need to start paying off the movie theatre now, so that I have a weeks worth of movie entries up my sleeve. (I may pass out the first couple of viewing) I nearly had a heart attack seeing the NM trailer on the big screen. Oh god, I’ve started getting goosebumps again just thinking about it……
