 signing-pen

For those who read my Breaking Dawn post a few days ago, you will remember that I speculated about how busy Rob was going to be up until this time next year.  Well Rope of Silicon is now reporting that Rob is set to join Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz in a period film called “Unbound Captives” hopefully to be shot at the end of this year.   The film is to be directed by Madeline Stowe, who cowrote the script with her husband Brian Benben (is that his real name?) and will make her directorial debut.   Rachel Weisz will play the role of a woman whose husband is killed and her two children kidnapped by a Comanche war party in 1859. She is rescued by a frontiersman (Hugh Jackman, of course) and Rob will play her son (is that even possible – the makeup department has their work cut out for them).

Although it doesn’t show up on any of the casts’ homepages at IMDb (not that that means anything, after all Rob still shows on his as attending the 2009 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards as “himself” – um – was that him practising to be Harry Houdini for Summit – ok that’s a rumour that I’m starting because I wanted him to do that film), it is being reported at Variety.  You can read the respective articles by clicking on the links.

Rob I hope that lid in your mouth is because you are signing on the dotted line for this film.  Seriously, I”m pretty sure there are quite a few of us that have been hoping that Rob and Hugh would appear in a film together ever since we heard about their little karaoke party.

Would love to see Rob and Hugh together. All that eye candy in one film!!!!

Seriously though, ive been waiting to see if Rob would be doing a period film, though an English one, not American.

Im sure it will be a great movie.

Wow… busy busy busy bee that he is!

I would like to know more about the story and the character Rob is supposed to play, but certainly the thought of Rob and Hugh together is pleasantly mind-blowing! Can my heart bear it???

I have your same perplexity about Rob playing the role of the son, more because Rachel Weisz looks quite young to me (the way I remember her, at least!) and Rob is so tall… maybe they’ll make *her* look older?

On a side note: I’m loving that picture and suddenly wishing I could transfigure myself into a pen lid… I’m also enjoying the sight of his scraggly sideburns quite a bit :)! Thanks Maria :)!

Rob does Houdini’s water chamber, now that’s something I would have paid good money to see. lol

Please let it be true that he’s signed! Rob can have a lovely restful break after this one. We are talking Hugh awesome Jackman here and with Madeline steering something she’s already invested so much of her life into, wow, I can already feel the emotion.

    Thanks for posting this Maria!
I hope this is true, It’s the BEST news I’ve heard all day!
    ROB+HUGH = Heaven
Now all we need is Hugh to convince Rob to come visit Australia and my life will be complete. 🙂

Athena – Having thought about this more – Rachel will appear young at beginning and possibly age (the film’s an epic remember – so probably will span quite some years) – possibly Rob will play her son in later stages – just a hunch.

Thanks, Maria, now I see, it is the only way it could make sense.

I haven’t had the chance to read the articles, yet, as my connection is slow (I’ve reached my monthly limit 🙁 – too much Rob, I guess!) and it takes forever to load, but I will once it goes back to normal.

I would really like to know more about the film. An epic, eh? Interesting…
