I know how much you enjoy seeing old photos of Rob, so I thought I’d share some early shots from Rob’s Barnes Theatre & Co days.  What do you think – signs of a star in the making? Personally, the first two photos could easily be front page post Oscars acceptance (well maybe in a slightly more modern tux)! Thanks to Pattinson life.

Thanks Maria, I had never seen these pictures! I wonder what he was playing…
Indeed, the birth of a star! 🙂
Thanks Maria! Rob looks beyond his years in this first photo, just beautiful.
Definitely a star in the making!
Hi Athena – the second and group photo is definitely Alec D’Urberville from Tess of the D’Urbervilles. He also played George Gibbs in Our Town (possibly first and third photo) and Lord Evelyn Pakleigh in Anything Goes (a musical – would only sit through this because of Rob). And a role in Macbeth although I believe that wasn’t for Barnes. Cilla/Michelle correct me if I’m wrong (it can happen!).
Thanks for the information, Maria! I saw “Tess” with Nastassja Kinski and I remember Alec was not a pleasant character at all… would have loved to see Rob in that (you know how I’m longing to see his dark side at work!)… I have never heard of the other plays… I will look into them… a musical, too… wow, would have loved to see that, too!
And the Scottish Play, too! One of my favourites! I definitely would have paid good money to see him in that! I wonder which character he played…
OK… bottom line is that I would want to see any role Rob plays! What a surprise! Hahaha!
Athena – you might not have to wait that long to see at least a little of Rob’s dark side. What’s the new slated release date for Memoirs – Feb 2010 – right. But don’t ask me for spoilers because my lips are sealed.
Ooooooooooh!!! Excitement!!! Now I can’t really wait to see “Memoirs”!!!
And February is not even *that* far away (tries to convince herself!)…
I promise I won’t ask for spoilers, because, as you know, I like being surprised, but thanks very much for the hint, Maria! 😀
By the way, I’ve read the first four chapters of Bel Ami, and that role seems really cut for Rob, meaning that I think I understand why he would want to do it.
It seems indeed like an interesting part to play: it’s not a positive character, yet, so far, I can’t help but being (unwillingly) on his side!
