Claire Denis say that Robert Pattinson is like a knight to her and wants to work with him again.

I just love how directors who work with Rob love to work with him again.  It happened first with David Cronenberg and then with David Michôd.  The Safdies and Rob have said they want to work together again and I can’t imagine how chuffed Rob is that Claire Denis has thrown her hat into the ring hoping to make another film with him.  At this rate Rob won’t have to pursue any directors – they’ll be pursuing him.

Deadline released their TIFF2018 issue that includes an interview with Claire Denis who talks obviously about High Life, Robert Pattinson and the death of her mother during filming.  Here’s the extract of what she said about Rob – you can read the full interview in the scans below:

Why Robert Pattinson?

I think he’s a great young man and a wonderful young actor. He is intelligent, poetic, he is like a knight to me. I saw the four parts of Twilight when it was released. I was amazed by the two heroic young leads.

What might you make next?

I have a project around the Mediterranean Sea. I’d also like to work again with Robert; once wasn’t enough. I have a couple of movies I’m thinking about but I’m not sure… I’m afraid of the future.

Did [the deatf of your mother] impact your film?

I don’t know. Maybe in a year or two I will realize. Probably. Of course, it must have. She wanted the film to exist, though. She read the script. She loved Robert, Juliette [Binoche]. She told me I must “work, work.”

Great to read that Claire Denis would like to work with Rob again …… why am I not surprised? *I’mnotjealousatall*. I’m sure Rob smiles when he hears his favourite directors complimenting him, as so many do – what a thrill for him.
