Robert how I’ve missed your promo verbal diarrhoea. Â IÂ decided to put together this post after reading this classic from Robert during the promo for The Lost City of Z World premiere:
Robert on his beard
“Oh god, it took forever to grow. I was so happy to get rid of it. It was disgusting, the whole thing was disgusting,” he told The Hollywood Reporter on Saturday night. “And I had lost so much weight by the end of the shoot — nearly 35 pounds, we weren’t eating the entire time — that when I shaved it off, it was like I had no bottom half of my face. I was like a small, strange squirrel.” via The Hollywood Reporter
Robert on Filming
“People literally seemed like they were going to die,â€Robert Pattinson said from the safe grounds of Alice Tully Hall in Manhattan on Saturday night. While several in the cast of Pattinson’s film, “The Lost City of Z,†spoke of extreme diets and strict workout regimes to prep for filming, the British actor noted a more vague intensity. “It was one of the craziest movies I’ve ever worked on,†he added. “The shoot was insane.â€
“James sent me the book maybe six, seven years ago,†Pattinson said of the David Grann book. “And it was with an entirely different cast, and a different script. I think it’s gone through three different iterations of casts since I’ve been attached. I’m the only one who was originally involved. He shoots like people don’t really shoot anymore. This film is so beautiful. And I think films nowadays just aren’t as pretty as James’ movies are.â€Â via WWD
Robert on Spiders
“There was this weird thing that happened in the hotel,†Pattinson told Vulture. “It flooded everyday at 3 p.m., because we went in the rainy season. No one realized it was the rainy season, and somehow all these massive spiders would float into our room. At night there would be like an inch of water in the room, it was kind of terrifying. I made a little hammock on top of my bed just hanging there, in terror.  … There was one that was called a Brazilian wandering spider,†Pattinson said. “James, who is normally very neurotic about anything wildlife related, saw this spider, and it is incredibly beautiful, and he was like, ‘We need to get the B camera, get on this, get on this. Somebody get it to move.’ And he was prodding this spider, which is like six-inches wide, with a stick, trying to get it to do something interesting. And the Colombian crew was like, ‘That is the most potent spider in the world.’ There were a lot of situations like that.†via Vulture

Robert on filming in the Jungle
“There were moments where me and Charlie were going through with machetes and we were in totally virgin jungle humans never went through,†Pattinson said. “And they were like, ‘Yeah, just do a beautiful shot and hack through it with machetes.’ Me and Charlie were just like, ‘Uh, this feels like really ropey (sketchy) to do this.’â€Â via Vulture
“Shooting in Colombia, being on a boat all day, on a river with a glacier in the background. It’s incredible.†via Vogue
Robert on Diet for the Role
“I had literally eaten nothing for the entire time,†he explained of his dietary restrictions for the role, adding, “I loved it afterwards, for like a week in London, where I have a 28-inch waist. I was like, ‘Ooh! Skinny jeans!’ â€
Pattinson’s slim and trim figure was short-lived: “That lasted for, like, three days. … “after six or seven weeks of just eating half a little tiny bit of fish and like a crumb of rice, and then you eat a sandwich and you’ve got on 15 pounds afterward.â€Â via People
LOL. I have to admit I’ve never thought of him as a squirrel before ……
