It’s been a whirlwind catching up this week.  I’m starting with the release of “Life” in Australia on 10 September 2015, which is my return back to the world of RPAU. Missed you all and have to thank Michelle, Jules and Suze for their awesome work.  Sorry that Rob didn’t attend Deauville and Venice last week, but a part of me (and that’s the selfish part) was relieved that I wasn’t going to miss the epicness of red carpet Rob.  I did sneak on to see his acceptance speech though.  Okay sorry I digress, I’m doing this week’s week in review.  Let’s get to it.  LIFE:   Transmission confirmed to us on Twitter that the “Life” DVD | Bluray & Digital will be out in Oz on 17 December 2015.  The Randwick Ritz updated their Facebook header and I’ve gotten back into the swing of things by watching the various videos that have been spoiling us this week.  I loved Rob’s honesty in the Pearl & Dean snippet.  I believe he could relate totally to that role.  Then we get ‘I’m just thinking of the guy as a shitty dad”  LOL I’m so glad Rob never changes.  Watching Rob interviews is always a highlight – no filter Rob is the best.   Also loved reliving some of the new scenes that have been unleashed in the dubbed snippets, although as I’ve mentioned before, dubbing Rob’s character voice steals away half his performance for those fans. Shame really.  Did anyone else pick up that Rob said he had “3 projects” with James Gray in that Studio Cine interview?  To think there are people who have convinced themselves Rob’s got no work *shakeshead*.  Like they know the ins and out of his life because they have access to the internet.  There are so many things we don’t know that are in the pipeline, that never go forward or that just simply get pulled away because of conflicts.  I also love Rob’s comment “I want roles that make me take risks every time (the kind that endanger me).”  I want you to have those roles too Rob.  And Rob’s little tease about being the only professional actor in the Safdie film.   How does one go about getting a role in this Safdie movie?  That’s a serious question.  We all know I’m not a “professional actor”, but I’m willing to give being an amateur one a shot.   I laughed at Jules’ intro to the Mornings Show interview – I didn’t even know that David Campbell and Sonia Kruger had their own show, but honestly why are they still referencing Twilight?  What an insult to David Michôd.  This is why I loathe Australian shows like this and their laziness.  Tall poppy syndrome alive and well in this country.  Oh wait that’s right we don’t even have our own entertainment reporter on that show *morons*.  You can see Rob’s whole demeanor change when they reference him to only  “Twilight”. Anyway sorry about that rant.  Thought I’d get stuck into it since I haven’t whinged for at least one week.  I’ll move on to the new interview with Cosmo (Germany) which has some gold Rob in it.  As does The Scotsman and The Observer interviews.  Rob having a go at internet trolls = priceless.  THE CHILDHOOD OF A LEADER:  Those good reviews are steaming along aren’t they.  I’m really glad for Brady.   And those new stills – wowza. Only 15 minutes of Rob and well like all of you – I’d sit through a film for just a glimpse of Rob.  ANDDDDDDDDDD it won 2 lions at Venice.  That is bloody spectacular.  I cannot wait to find out who will unleash this beauty in Australia although I have my suspicions.  QUEEN OF THE DESERT:  Not much to report on here other than IMDb seems to have the US now listed for a 2016 release.  Tick tock.  Don’t understand what’s happening with this film at all.  THE LOST CITY OF Z:  Love that new cast is being added as the filming chugs along.   On a general note, Teen.com tweeted us about their article on straight men playing gay characters and included Rob as Salvador Dali.  Curzon Cinemas have that fantastic “Life” exhibition.  Rob’s involved with The Global Goals “We The People” and Transmission tweeted a link to an interview with The Brag and Anton Corbijn where Anton says some really lovely comments about Rob’s performance.  I’ve added a link to this article on our “Life” film page.  I do this often with the film pages where it’s an interesting article, but doesn’t really deserve it’s own post.  But what does deserve its own post are Jules’ amazing edits.  Seriously no words to describe them.  Just when I think she’s outdone herself she unleashing something new.  Talented woman.  So I think that’s a wrap for this week.  I’m glad to be back as I didn’t really have a chance to check online whilst away.  I guess it’s back to reality now and well that’s not a bad thing because it means I spend more time here at RPAU.  Looking forward to seeing what next week brings.  Until then …
