This is coincidental.  As I was preparing this post, I got an alert in my emails of an article about Queen of the Desert from CinePop (Brazil) showcasing the new trailer.  It’s funny how Rob has the tiniest role in this film, yet he seems to be getting more acknowledgement than Franco and Lewis who had to share one sentence below:
“The film portrays the writer’s life, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer and British politics Gertrude Bell ( Kidman ). She was the first woman to graduate from the University of Oxford at the turn of the 20th century and traveled through the Middle East in the service of the British Empire, defining the borders of Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
Robert Pattinson is cast as TE Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia, an archaeologist, military, secret agent, British diplomat and writer who came to collaborate with Bell on the establishment of dynasties in Jordan and Iraq.
James Franco and  Damian Lewis round out the cast.
No commercial debut forecast, ‘ Queen of the Desert ‘will have its premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in 2015” .
“No commercial debut forecast” yet when you click on the hyperlink it takes you to all the posts on their website relating to QotD and lo and behold there’s Queen of the Desert with a premiere date of 18 December 2015.  I’m going to go with the December date for now since they show the right distributor – you may recall I posted here that Diamond Films would distribute the film across Latin America.
Thanks @QueenFilmFan for original heads up about release date.
Reminder a current list of release dates can be found on our “Queen of the Desert” film page.
The biased reporting suits me.
I’m still laughing from the last post ……
