We are very excited to say that we are bringing back our Golden Years series 🙂 As you can see, we are kicking things off with The Rover. How to chose a favourite scene from The Rover, now that is NOT an easy task. Actually, at first thought, it is an impossibility almost. I adore every second of this film & Rob’s phenomenal portrayal of Rey. He gets me right in the heart every.single.time. When having to choose though, I just couldn’t go past this scene. Rey’s recalling of a time in his childhood, his enthusiasm when explaining it to Eric, despite his non interest. Rey’s body language, little smiles & giggles, a brief bit of joy, him opening up & telling Eric something about his past. Makes me smile. Then the other side, Rey sharing his despair & heartbreak over “the little girl who died” & how he cannot stop thinking about it. My heart breaks for him, I want to jump through the screen & hug him. Rob & Guy are perfection together throughout the entire film & this scene right here, is one of my most favourite examples. I could go on forever with my praise for Rob, Guy, David & the entire film. It is a true masterpiece. A beautiful piece of film.
Thank you of course to Maria for making these awesome videos for us 🙂
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Michelle this is a perfect scene to highlight. Your words exactly fit my emotions. Let me just wipe away my tear while I type.
Your commentary itself is a thing of beauty Michelle!! So wonderful and I couldn’t agree more. Thanks so much for sharing with us and w00t for the Golden Years 😉
Wow. This was a great scene. Rob captures that little kid enthusiasm for the weird and wonderful perfectly. He’s heartbreakingly lovely to watch. Guy is a diamond – hard and precise and cold. The two actors play off each other beautifully. Well chosen, Michelle. Thank you.
It doesn’t matter how many times I that scene. It always gets me. Beautiful portrayal of a very vulnerable Rey. Beautiful. Thanks Michelle.
