“THE ROVER TO DEBUT AT THE 2014 CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

The Rover has been invited to Premiere at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. It will be presented in the Official Selection: Out of Competition.
Writer and Director David Michôd will now join a long line of filmmakers who first screened at the Cannes Film Festival in this category.
Michôd (best known for writing and directing the critically acclaimed Animal Kingdom) will be in attendance at the films international debut. He will be joined by leading man Guy Pearce (Animal Kingdom, Prometheus and Lawless) and co-star Robert Pattinson (Water for Elephants, Cosmopolis and Bel Ami).

It has also recently been announced Michôd will write and direct the forthcoming production The Operators to star and be produced by Brad Pitt.
Roadshow Films Managing Director, Joel Pearlman said “David Michôd has created an extraordinary film. We congratulate him, the Producers, Cast and Crew on this incredible achievement. Cannes remains the leading light among film festivals and this is a well deserved honour for The Rover.”
To coincide with this announcement Roadshow Films have released an Australian exclusive film poster.

The Rover will be released in Australia on the 12th of June 2014 by Roadshow Films.”

    The poster is incredible. I love the use of depth of field. And how great does that Cannes Palme d’Or logo look. Squeeee. I can’t wait to see and hear David, Guy and Rob together talking about their movie. I know I sound about 12. – I can’t help it.

    @Michelle – Maybe we can fit a countdown clock somewhere?

    Agree with everyone, this poster is amazing. And yes, @Michelle, I think this is what heaven feels like, for sure. So happy for all involved with The Rover. Kinda sweet to think an Aussie movie helped Rob get to Cannes again.
    Thanks for posting the Media Release too, Maria. Now, if they could just send you a few tickets to that Midnight Screening …….*just putting it out there*

    Wooohoooooo! Ok so I am out of practice I need get some prep in in order to cope with the hotness of Rob, Guy and David on the red carpet. Holy shit I am hyperventilating just thinking about it! Need to dust off my thud pillow and stock up on paper bags….oh and gin. Will need lots of gin 😛

    OMG – it finally happened. “Robert Pattinson (Water For Elephants, Cosmopolis, Bel Ami)” Did you notice?!!! NO mention of the ‘T’ word or vampires!!!!! WHoooooo HOOoooooo!!!!! OK, got a bit carried away there – probably focussing on the wrong thing, but WOW, finally the world is catching up. Yes, people, he is an extraordinary actor working with amazing directors and high-class actors. Make way for the King Of Cannes! (Love the new banner BTW, Jules!)
