Télérama has listed the movies it wants to see at Cannes this year and unsurprisingly it has included “The Rover”.  They say all good comes to those who wait right? Well it’s not like we haven’t been patient with this film, so maybe we will ALL be rewarded:
“The Rover , by David Michôd . With Robert Pattinson, Guy Pearce, Scoot McNairy.
Revealed in 2010 by Scorsesien Animal Kingdom , the young Australian prodigy took his time to write and direct the new polar opposite of following some sort of Outback hermit who went in search of his car stolen by a gang of criminals. If our favorite transforms the test, a competition selection is required.“
Oh yeah baby a competition selection really is required and with Jane Campion as the President, it’s about time the rest of the world had a little Tran Tasman domination.
It’s also included Map to the Stars, but did not elaborate on it. Imagine Rob having two films at Cannes – I always remember that original interview in Cannes 2009 when Rob was asked if he wanted to be a killer in a Tarantino film and Rob responded “that’s why I’m here to get work”. And work baby you shall have. Excites.
Thanks to Pattinson Art Work
2 Rob films at Cannes – YES PLEASE!! Imagine. Exciting times ahead, oh so very exciting. Cannot wait to see what unfolds 😀
Thanks Maria, this is great news. Rob, at Cannes for two movies now that would be absolutely brilliant. 😀
Nice start to a hectic day, thanks Maria. Fingers crossed for both movies (& Rob) making an appearance in Cannes this year.
Rob + French Riviera = Heaven. Cannes is a must for indie films – it’s THE place to get noticed. Let’s hope “The Rover” gets selected. I trust anything by David Cronenberg will be automatically included in the line-up – he’s such a respected film-maker, it’d be criminal not to include a film of his. I guess we just have to wait and see, though. So exciting if both films are on the cards! Rob at Cannes premieres? Yes please! Thanks Pattinson Art Work and Maria for posting!
Aww WOW would you look at that beautiful photo – thanks Maria for that and the news. It would be beyond amazing if he had two films at Cannes – imagine indeed!! That’s what dreams are made of – he seemed so proud and thrilled with Cosmopolis. Fingers crossed – that Cannes premiere was such a MAGICAL night – seeing him with the cast on the stairs and just owning it. He deserves the best. 🙂
