I thought The Rover was a done deal, but some articles are conflicting mentioning Rob’s still in negotiations.   I don’t want to set the cat amongst the pigeons, so I’m going to go with “it’s a done deal” – what?  like Rob fans aren’t already called delusional on a daily basis LOL.

Anyway, IMBbPro, which I know gets it wrong how often … lots, has updated since Friday adding Rob as “in negotiations”.  It’s also added to Rob’s “Projects in Development”

imdbPro

IF.com:

“Producer Liz Watts is calling David Michod’s new film The Rover “a dirty and dangerous near-future western set in the Australian desert” [Maria:  actually that’s the description that has been on IMDbPro – coincidence].

She confirmed what the Internet is buzzing about: that Guy Pearce and Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson are in discussions to play, respectively, a man in pursuit of the people who stole his car and the brother of one of the thieves in Michod’s follow-up to Animal Kingdom.

Reluctantly, Watts also added a few more details: it is hoped that The Rover will go into production late in the year and discussions about the project started 18 months ago between Michod and US producer David Linde.”

Twitch:

“With a setup that sounds like some sort of bleak, modern day western, Pearce will play a man in pursuit of the men who have stolen his car. Which he really, really wants back for unspecified reasons. Cast opposite Pearce is Robert Pattinson, who plays the brother of one of the thieves, badly injured in a confrontation with police.” [Maria:  so is Rob badly injured or his brother badly injured – so much ambiguity]

Seriously, stop trying to rain on our parade … oh and since when do we Aussies refer to “westerns”  – that would be never.

🙁 What are they trying to do? Ruin our Rob month? Done Deal sounds better to me too.

I think Rob will be injured and that is why he was left behind. That would explain why Guy would allow him in the car for all the chasing Joel around the outback.

    Western? Phffft
