And why not?  Oh I know why – they don’t want to overshadow all the other films.  Understandable really because then Rob would have to show up and well – like anyone would care about who else was there.  No really I’m sure that’s the logic because I was just on Protagonist’s and Sundance’s site the other day hoping they had announced  Bel-Ami would be showing.  Hmm my recollection is that Bel-Ami IS supposed to be at Film Festivals – so really are they trying to tell us that it’s going to Cannes?  May is so far away.  Maybe I can  hold a Film Festival at my house – hmm wonder if John Polson could be hoodwinked into believing it’s a short film so that it can be entered into Tropfest LOL.

Protagonist Pictures, the Sales and Marketing Company for Bel Ami, has just released their Sundance 2011 festival line-up and unfortunately absent is Bel Ami starring Robert Pattinson and Uma Thurman.

Protagonist films Tyrannosaur and the acclaimed film Submarine are in the Sundance line-up.”

Thanks to BelAmiFilm for the tip.

I don’t pretend to know much about the movie biz but BA seems to be taking it’s time. I hope all is well and it is just a marketing ploy. I know the anticipation is killing me. So, if that’s it, it’s working.

@Carmel ITA with you 100%. But that just makes it more exciting.

Hahaha Maria! Now that is some logic I can understand.

I completely agree Maria, if Rob & BA were at the festival that is all anyone would care about. The other films wouldn’t even stand a chance. I love the thought of Rob going to Cannes. Oohhh I wonder if it’s possible BA will be shown there. I really hope we can see a teaser for the film soon. Even just a little one. So cannot wait to meet Georges!!

  • Martha M

@Camel yes so like Georges to do that. That tease, but hey he can tease me any time.

Well it’s usually held between 17 and 26 May or thereabouts and he’s finishing up filming BD in April – even if he’s promoting WFE that would be prior to May – yeah yeah I can convince myself of anything, but I think it’s a possibility that they could have it screened there – you know it being French themed and all LOL. I’m keeping an eye on it – let’s say women’s intuition *giggles* (or just wishful thinking – Rob in a tux on red carpet *swoon*).

Whaaaatttttt??!!! Don’t promoters know by now if you want the publicity an dyour event to the biggest it can possibly be, you get Rob!
Yeah my fingers are crossed for Cannes as well guys!

Clearly Robert Redford wants to be the only “Robert” involved LOL.

@Maria so sorry to bring up
Twilight again. My secret Santa just gave me the Edward doll. That’s the scariest thing I have ever seen! OMG what where they thinking when the made this horrific doll?

  • Vertigo

Touche’ Maria. Redford might not be as smart as Cruise (aka Grossman).

  • Maria
    Posted on December 17, 2010

oh yeah @Vertigo – and did you see yesterday that Ben Stiller was asked how the Grossman movie was going and it’s apparently at script stage. Woot woot – Tom baby – I think if you include Rob as a cameo in that film – I might do some couch jumping… just sayin 😀

hahaha – yep I know @Martha – there’s a great blogsite called Pocket Edward that we follow on twitter – she does a comparison photo every Wednesday – her Edward doll freaks me out.

@Carmel I’m so sorry I always leave the “r” out of your name. I don’t know why I do that. Maybe I do it unconsciously I guess I have WFE on my mind. Do forgive me.

  • Martha M

Lol girls, you’ve cracked me up again with all the comments and speculation about the festival.
LOL – Redford wants to be the only Robert there…hahaha
However, it would be just awesome to see Rob at Cannes promoting a French story in France dressed in a tux in this beautiful European setting…wouldn’t that kill us all?
There is still hope I say.
